This movie is amazing. a wonderful surprise hit.

It's just got a little bit of everything. Excellent pacing. Enough comedy to pull you in. Enough drama and pathos to really make you feel for the characters. Gloria really has growth and Sudeikis plays the heck out of his NiceGuy™ character.

surprising performances from Anne Hathaway and then Jason Sudeikis... I loved this fun and kinda surreal flick. Got feels of 90s & 80s horror and thriller films. Very original! Massive props to the director Nacho Vigalondo!!! P.S. Jason Sudeikis [spoiler] is amazing as the villian in the third act![/spoiler] This is kind of a trippy and abstract super-hero gritty semi-realistic comic bookish unique film!

like a lot of people, i only expected a weird but funny romcom type of film with this, from what i could remember from watching a trailer months ago. but i was surprised when the tone took a dark turn and the movie got more serious - i didn't know what to expect and that's always exciting when watching a film for the first time.
anne hathaway is a good choice and fits her role perfectly, but [spoiler]seeing jason sudeikis transform from his funny nice guy to abusive, manipulative murderer was shocking and definitely not what i expected from him.[/spoiler] maybe some people don't enjoy the tone of a movie changing and i get that it can be off-putting if you expect a comedy and end up with a drama, but still i find the movie refreshing and different so i enjoyed it.

I like movies like these. more character development is required to give a shit if someone died. but overall fun kera-Japaneese-deathNote typeish movie. 8/10

I love love loved this. I knew a good bit of the plot going in so thought there wouldn't be much left but there is.

I had previously seen **Timecrimes** and loved it, then I saw **Open Windows** and thought it was ok so I went in thinking this would be another dip and it wasn't.

100% fresh YOU MUST SEE THIS !

**What I Expected:** a comedic love letter to kaiju films, coming-of-age stories and modern adulthood.
**What I Got:** a dark parable about abusive relationships and taking responsibility for yourself.

Damn it, Netflix, this isn't a comedy at all! Quirky, maybe, but I wasn't expecting to _feel things_!
(Still loved it though.)

This is such a weird and interesting movie. This goes from an off beat rom-com to something much darker. I enjoyed the tone change and I didn't go into this wanting to question the laws of physics but just let the story unfold. You will enjoy this much more if you suspend your beliefs in the laws of nature. Anne Hathaway was great and I enjoyed Jason Sudeikis for the most part[spoiler] even though his character started acting like a dick. [/spoiler]

Really enjoyed this. A genuinely different and interesting film is surely always a good thing? Surprised it's rated so poorly thus far.
