Just watched it. It had been on my watchlist for years. should have watched it sooner, it kicks ass!
This idea is so unique and clever. Yes, there are several long parts and Demi Moores Plotline is just okay. But the chemistry between Marshal and Brooks makes the movie work!
very underrated movie prob won't appeal to everyone but i really love this movie watched it heaps of times & bought the bluray recently too.
Surprisingly intense thriller with a standout performance by Demi Moore. Kevin Costner has the more showy role, to be sure, but Demi steals her scenes IMHO. William Hurt is the proper amount of creepy which I think foreshadows his work later on "Goliath." I hear they were thinking this could have been a trilogy and while I'm curious where that would have gone, I think it is better here as a one off. The less said about Dane Cook, the better.
Couldn't believe I didn't know about this Kevin Costner movie before. Has been on my watchlist for awhile and just found it again today and watched it. Even though it isn't his usual type of character to play, he was still excellent in the role.
Kevin Costner plays a "cold as ice" schizophrenic psychopathic serial
killer Earl Brooks in this intriguing thriller. It is several stories
wrapped into one. The story of the main character who has an invisible
"friend" who talks him into killing people. Then you have an insane
photographer who is blackmailing Mr. Brooks into letting him tag along
to watch a killing up close. Demi Moore plays a"bad ass" cop who became
a cop to prove herself to her uber rich father. Then there is an
escaped con who has it in for Demi & is completely out of his mind
wanting to get revenge for her putting him in prison. After all of that
Mr. Brooks has to cover up a murder his daughter committed in college.
After all of this you have a lot of blood, a lot of killing, a lot of
intrigue & a lot of creepy fun. There are even a few laughs along the
way. I rate it a 4/5 or 8/10
Still a great film from Kevin Costner XD
Dane Cook was not a good casting call
How did they manage to make this idea so boring and cliché?
