Sure, life sucks and everything, but please next time keep in mind that films are meant for an audience, thank you. On top of being emotionless and overlong, it doesn’t even come with Carax’s usual stylistic flourishes. It feels like they wanted to adapt Melville’s book just for the unsimulated incestuous sex scene and didn’t care much about the rest (obviously it’s the sex to be unsimulated, not the incest).
