I love that they’ve showed all the immigrants or Muslims in the show who just casually existed to be extremely helpful, yet somehow Mrs Summers is scared of Muslims somehow, or distrusts Ousmane at the very least. He can barely walk… I’m sad she’s treating him the way she has been. He’s been all but kind, like all the other people she’s met so far, none of which have been of Caucasian decent. Seems a bit pretentious, but people often are.

And that hopelessness … to fear for someone you love, not knowing where they are and walking through a big city with a photo asking random people they’ve seen them.

The question “why would she need to learn Arabic?!” is making me sad, too. I know, the background with the attacks and people generally being paranoid and influenced by propaganda, but as a linguist, just picking up a new language just because is just so nice. Assuming the worst first is just sad.

Lovely how it develops though, they even joke about his hair.
