A lot of people are comparing it to The Shallows (2016) which is far enough as they have a lot of things in common.
I'm a big fan of movies set in one place throughout the whole thing so naturally I felt inclined to watch this. It was a while ago since I watched The Shallows so my memory of it might be a bit muddy but I think this one is actually better.
Without comparing it to any other movie it's still pretty good. I always try to judge a movie based on what it's trying to be and what it's trying to achieve. It was suspenseful and made me feel a bit claustrophobic, which in this case is a good thing, really adds to the panic of the situation. It took a few twists and turns that I didn't expect so props for that. It's not a masterpiece but for what it's trying to be it's really good.

Liked this more than I thought I would. They could've gone over the top bloody with this but they kept it subtle and relied mostly on the tension which was nice. Nothing surprising or shocking in this movie, no deep plot, just an enjoyable movie for a night in.

Quite a good movie and a thrilling one at that. I did not see that twist at the end coming. I thought it would be the typical completely unrealistic ending but then it was quite different.
And let's talk about that amazing scene when both sisters were ascending (in her hallucination) and they were lighting the torch and all those huge sharks were around them...I thought this scene looked just amazing and was quite a shocker.

Tense and really effective thriller. The claustrophobia in some of the sequences were downright terrifying to me. It's an effective shark movie, even if you're getting sick of them.

I thought this movie was really fun. I like shark movies, but they are all very similar. I thought this one differentiated itself enough from the pack to recommend this to anyone that's interested.

Incredibly intense, 47 Meters Down is a frightening thriller that gives Jaws a run for its money. While on vacation in Mexico two sisters go on a dive in a shark cage, but when an accident causes the cage to break free from its moorings the girls end up trapped at the bottom of the ocean with limited air and surrounded by sharks. Mandy Moore and Claire Holt both give strong performances; especially given that they’re underwater and in full diving gear for most of the film. Also, the script does a pretty good job at having the girls work through their problems and attempt to find rescue. And the shark attacks (though not very realistic) are terrifying, and are made more so by a remarkably powerful score that heightens the tension and suspense. 47 Meters Down is a fresh and exciting horror film that delivers some bone-chilling scares.

Actually a good movie. I had low expectations before seeing this one. However, I am impressed with it. Kudos to the production crew and the actors. Nice ending. Totally unexpected, kind of hard to wrap your mind about it at first but you get to understand at the very end. Gripping thriller!

What a good surprise. Since Jaws (except the 3 and 4), I had not found a suspense with our man-eating friends. the film creates a feeling of anxiety and stress with a bonus, a surprising end.
