Rural England, 1865. Katherine, suffocated by her loveless marriage to a bitter man and restrained by his father's tyranny, unleashes an irresistible force within her, so powerful that she will stop at nothing to get what she wants.

It's the transformation of a somewhat normal girl into a ruthless murderer. I particularly enjoyed how unappealing the lover was; I haven't read the novel, but I thought it underlined the main goal of the protagonist: relief from boredom and social norms.
Even if she evades prison at the end, a return to the status quo seemed like a fitting punishment for her, and it contrasted nicely with the fate of her lower-class co-conspirators.
Florence Pugh can murder me in any way she chooses.
Imagine Downton Abbey directed by Paul Verhoven. Far more fun than I anticipated!
A movie which doesn't let you feel the way you want to feel about it. The movie goes into some very deep cracks of human psyche and its disposition to voilence to attain power. What's interesting is Lady Macbeth traps you in this haunting period peice and honestly you don't feel like leaving. Florence Pugh is excellent and the cinematography is distant but earnest in capturing the emotions underneath. Definitely a must watch.
Cold, dispassionate drama about a cold, dispassionate woman. Compelling to watch, despite the unpleasant tone.
wow that an amazing one ..
