Agatha Christie is just simply brilliant! As I began watching this movie for the second time [before watching the 2017 version] I didn't remember the outcome.... I did remember after about 20 mins, but, I won't spoil the surprise here :)
I love the way as each character is interviewed the cry comes "He did it!" or "She did it!" and as the viewer you are thinking, yes, they could have... did they?
Never was there a film with so star studded a cast
A classic, still excellent, adaptation of the Agatha Christie novel. Top stars of the day rise this movie well above average for the genre.
Very good movie and for sure a classic. The cast ist fantastic and so iconic. Just a very well made film.
It’s fun rewatching this and seeing all the stars of the time. Personally I think Finley overacted in this movie but really enjoyed him in movies he did much later on.
is as good as @mundojameswalle says You were right James, Albert Finney is leaving, I will not see the new one to compare
I loved the other movies based on Agatha Christie novels, but this one wasn't that good compared to the others, it was not that interesting and the ending was not that good either.
I didn't find the book very good, and it happened the same with the movie. In addition, the characters were very theatrical with no purpose. They weren't funny, so the movie could have had more serious characters to make it more as a mystery movie. The plot is interesting, but not completely mysterious, though.
Excellent Agatha Christie murder mystery.
Fair enough for its time, though I didn't quite like Finney's exaggerated accent.
I found Albert Finneys Poirot pretty hard work. Give me Ustinov's any day.
