Elliot: The Littlest Reindeer is a rather weak and confused animated Christmas film. The story follows a miniature horse named Elliot who dreams of being one of Santa’s reindeer, and when Blitzen retires and tryouts are held to fill his position, Elliot disguises himself and enters the competition  with a little help from a friend. Featuring the voice talents of Martin Short, John Cleese, and Morena Baccarin, the cast is pretty decent and does a good job at bringing life to their characters. However, the script is kind of a mess; setting up several plot threads that don’t really come together. And the comedy is fairly broad, playing to younger audiences. Also, the animation is a little stilted. A cheaply make kids film, Elliot: The Littlest Reindeer is mildly entertaining, but doesn’t have a clear vision of what it wants to be.
