Discoveries and acceptance, both social and personal, are the central dilemmas in the transition of Mia, played by Luna Wedler, from adolescence to adulthood. In the film, this transformation is symbolized by bodily changes, explored in a unique way by combining elements of body horror, the bizarre and the absurd in a natural and intriguing way. These aspects come together with the protagonist's personal dramas, adding depth, daring and emotional involvement to the narrative.

This movie started as a dream and became a nightmare. Absolutely stunning. Luna Wedler is mesmerizing, and I could not stop watching, even it sometimes it made me feel bad. It's a pure anxiety-inducing ride which got my attention from the start till the end, just beautiful and dreadful at the same time. Great body horror mixed with coming of age and a gruesome trip about how to feel and act without knowing why. It will go right next to Hatching and Come True in my shelf.

A puberty tale of a different kind. Interesting premise told excruciating slow. Lots of salacious content to keep a teenage audience interested. The acting was good. But the story could have been told in a short live action film. For the glimmer of a premise and the acting alone I give this film a 6 (fair) out of 10. [Fantasy Drama]

Good coming of age movie with body horror element. I love mythical creatures. It's just too slow for my taste but worth checking out.

I mean the concept was pretty nice, in a way. The scene
where she ate the first fish
was a really cool wtf moment.
Besides that it was a generic teeny coming-of-age drama with not many interesting things. Very slow, lots of strange scenes that should've really been cut.
Body horror was okay though, only thing that made the movie a bit bearable.
