Jane Eyre

After a bleak childhood, Jane Eyre goes out into the world to become a governess. As she lives happily in her new position at Thornfield Hall, she meet the dark, cold, and abrupt master of the house, Mr. Rochester. Jane and her employer grow close in friendship and she soon finds herself falling in love with him. Happiness seems to have found Jane at last, but could Mr. Rochester's terrible secret be about to destroy it forever?
This was my first exposure to the 19th century classics of the Bronte sisters or Jane Austen just to let you know. I decided to watch this after it was mentioned by Isla Fisher's character in _Definitely, Maybe_. I did really enjoy this. While the story has become all too fairy tale in recent times with Cinderella being told 1000 different ways, this was just different. You must admire Jane's strong constitution after she is dealt one bad hand after another in her formative years. I get that some content was omitted from the 1847 novel but our story here is still strong. In fact the movie does feel a little long at times and I question the casting of William Hurt as Mr. Rochester. I think I am going to read the book next to understand the difference.
