Ana de Armas _**the woman that you are.**_

it's been a great experience revisiting the world of John Wick from this point of view, and they truly delivered, overdelivered even, i can only imagine all the effort and training sessions that went into this movie, plus all the practical stunts that were performed? **holy hell.**

flame thrower scenes? insanity.

navigating a whole kill squad with only a handful of grenades? the creativity is endless. kaboom.

& i absolutely love how they teased this movie with none other than John Wick, and he's been everywhere i get it, & i was hoping they won't make him appear for just half a minute like other movies that did a similar thing, they actually did very well with including John in this one, they obviously didn't give him all the screen time, or wrote him off as weak when fighting the main character Eve, they just it Just. Right.

enough screen time, good fights as always, and the way he literally was able to kill her 3 times but kept telling her to just leave. very well written, loving it.

-when Eve was running the enemies down with that flamethrower as the top down shot is ongoing, holy hellll that was one of my favorites
-also, when John does that tap-tap shot on two enemies, the way he moved as he switches his aim from one target to another, the camera moved with him, that was AMAZING.
-the little bit of screentime where we saw Norman Reedus, yet still it was enjoyable, him & his shotgun, god damn.
-the overall look and color / vibe of the movie, i felt like i'm literally back in the world of John Wick instantly.

such a fun film, can't wait to see more of it.

Tchaikovsky is redeemed, no longer associated just with Harry's universe.

Ballerina is Wick's universe. A really great action movie, full of great fight scenes, and gruesome/awesome kills.

To rewatch again.

I loved it. In my opinion it fits John Wick universe well and I hope they will make a sequel for this spin-off.

The first part of the movie was kinda slow, story was kinda weak, but overall great action scenes, and that's what I came for! It's a John Wick movie after all.

When I heard that Len Wiseman would be directing the “John Wick” spin-off “Ballerina,” I was highly skeptical. “Underworld” is one of my guilty pleasures, but I don’t exactly associate it with well-crafted action. But whether it's thanks to Wiseman or reshoots by Chad Stahelski, when it comes to action, Ballerina certainly holds its own. The film fits seamlessly into the franchise without offering much that's new.

I still don't really understand the idea of making a spin-off about a completely unknown character. But Ana de Armas does a good job, and the whole world-building is as delightfully bonkers as ever. A few action sequences also pack a solid punch, making it definitely worth a trip to the cinema. However, don't expect any innovations. Those will probably only be introduced in the next film in the main series.

Ballerina expands the John Wick universe with both grace and grit. Instead of the usual lone wolf, we get a bruised and emotionally raw assassin in Ana de Armas’ Eve Macarro. Trained by the Ruska Roma, she brings a different energy to the table. “Fight like a girl” isn’t a slogan here, it’s a challenge to every hitman rule you know. Eve is grieving, raging, and trying to find meaning in a world that kills for coin.

I was lucky enough to attend the World Premiere, and the screen was . Beneath the blood and broken bones, there’s real emotional weight.

Eve’s combat style is messy, desperate, and human. She gets hurt. She messes up. She adapts. It’s got that Casino Royale vibe where violence feels rough and earned. Each set piece has its own flavour too — flamethrowers, axes, grenades — but the standout might just be a restaurant fight that turns Greek plate-smashing into something gloriously absurd!

There’s humour in the madness. Not wink-at-the-camera jokes, but scenes so preposterous they loop back to genius. It adds a pulse of unpredictability and keeps the crowd roaring.

Keanu makes a few appearances, not front and centre, but seen through Eve’s eyes as the Baba Yaga himself. It’s a clever shift in perspective and reminds you just how terrifying Wick is when you’re not him.

No, it’s not John Wick 4. That was the franchise victory lap. But Ballerina lands alongside the original John Wick as a strong new chapter. Different lead, same calibre.

If you liked… Atomic Blonde, Nikita, No Time to Die (especially Ana’s Cuba scene), or the first John Wick, this one’s got your name on it.
