The Lone Ranger

The Texas Rangers chase down a gang of outlaws led by Butch Cavendish, but the gang ambushes the Rangers, seemingly killing them all. One survivor is found, however, by an American Indian named Tonto, who nurses him back to health. The Ranger, donning a mask and riding a white stallion named Silver, teams up with Tonto to bring the unscrupulous gang and others of that ilk to justice.

I liked very much. Depp is in top form. Hammer grows on you overtime and makes a great Ranger IMO. Overall, if you liked Pirates of the Caribbean, then you'll surely like this. A long film (149mins), but I never found myself getting bored or restless. Top entertainment all around. 9/10 from me.

Awesome. Although i would've liked a bit more controversy.

It loses its way a bit at around the midway point, but all in all 'The Lone Ranger' is a film I found entertainment in.

No doubt helped by much of the people behind 2003's 'Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl' - my favourite film - reuniting for this. From Johnny Depp to Gore Verbinski to Jerry Bruckheimer to Ted Elliott & Terry Rossio. Therefore, I was bound to like it.

Depp is enjoyable, as is usually the case. There are, of course, question marks as to whether he's 'right' for the role. He claims he has Native American heritage, though you enter a real grey area with all that stuff. Anyway, judging by his acting, he's fun. Armie Hammer is much better than I thought he'd be, while William Fichtner makes for a good villain. Nice to see Ruth Wilson and Helena Bonham Carter involved, also.

I like the way the story is told, involving Depp and Mason Cook. It certainly adds a sense of intrigue to events. The end scenes are also enjoyable, at least visually - I don't love the score all that much, to be honest. However, as noted at the top, the middle part of the film is less entertaining - though the finale helps pick things back up.

I've, evidently, seen better from these lot. Still, it's a very good film in my books; despite having issues.

This movie is actually an excellent and very well made Western Comedy. If you expect a John Wayne or Clint Eastwood Western, you’ll certainly be disappointed. It is not that. It is an excellent Western comedy rather in line with Terrence Hill Westerns or Wild, Wild West (which is also not as bad as some propel make it when you watch it with the right eyes) or even Back to the Future III.
Furthermore, I believe that all the criticism of Depp playing a Native American is BS. For one, it is a comedy, and Depp plays this great and thus respectful of the character and the culture. Then the character is very capable, fearless and honest. All characteristics that in no way taint the Native American people. Just stop it with wokeism. It is a movie, a good comedy movie. Some action scenes are to my mind a bit too long and over the top, but then they fit the movie. Just enjoy and have fun, like the actors in the movie obviously had, and stop finding bad things where there are none.

Enjoyed this very much, but still not a patch on the classic spaghetti western films.

What this movie suffers from is being too LONG. Though, despite that, I can't say all of it was boring. The final train sequence made it worth sitting through. Great VFX work by ILM! And not to mention Depp shining in a role that was obviously made for him. This is a movie I wouldn't actively recommend to someone, yet I wouldn't object if someone wanted to watch it. In other words, not a bad movie, but not a memorable one either.

It’s not as bad as they say. The action is pretty well done for one. The movie just didn’t need old Tonto (Johnny Depp) telling the story. That to me is the worst aspect of it.
