Sets things up, delivers specularly, and stays within a reasonable time limit. You don’t have to be The Godfather to be a 10/10
Final Destination: Bloodlines breathes new life into the long-running horror franchise with a clever reimagining of fate and family. While the characters remain thinly drawn, the film delivers exactly what I crave—elaborate, nerve-wracking death sequences paired with a sharp sense of dark humor. Tony Todd’s (RIP) return adds gravitas, and the film’s updated mythology manages to feel fresh without abandoning its roots.
it's been a while since this saga truly had PEAK CINEMA and this was pretty much it! 😁 my anxious ass left the movie theater with approximately ten new phobias and an urge to take out all my piercings... for no particular reason...
also it fueled my worst phobia right off the bat: women with mommy issues becoming exactly their mothers (just like me fr)
idgaf about the cgi effects maybe they weren't cutting edge technology but the message was well delivered and that's all that matters TO ME !!! the deaths were pretty brutal & creative just how I like em
side note: I kept thinking the protagonist reminded me of courtney eaton lmao
I felt so bad for Bobby he was the least asshole family member since the beggining, I was hoping he'd _somehow_ make it :( oh well it is what it rip everyone
tl;dr: FUCK coins.
20 minutes in, yep this is the Final Destination I know. It kicks off with that familiar vibe, suspense, unease and eerie setup. Classic formula is intact, then skip to new concept. What surprised me was how naturally the new concept was introduced. It didn’t feel forced or separate from the franchise's roots. Like often, long-running series lose their identity as they try to innovate. The new layer they’ve added is subtle yet smart, and it doesn’t detach from what makes Final Destination iconic.
From my perspective, this film still has its spark. It respects the franchise’s legacy, while daring to stretch the mythology a little further. The attention to detail in how they present the new concept is impressive. It feels fresh without trying too hard. I also loved the Easter eggs and references to the previous films. It's really treat for me who’ve followed the series from the beginning.
Note: Stay away from anything that have "View" on it. Either Lakeview or Skyview.
And thank God it was not about the lift but still avoid it.
I was completely blown away by this movie it exceeded my expectations way more than I thought could be possible. This might be the movie of the year for 2025. There have been so many sequels and I don't think they could have done a better job if they tried. 10/10
did not expect this to be the best film in the franchise but boy was I wrong. RIP Tony Todd
should be featured in comedy genre
“You know you make me wanna shout…”
Do yourself a favor and watch this movie.
'Final Destination Bloodlines' is unexpectedly terrific. I watched the original five movies two months ago and highly enjoyed the first flick, though the subsequent follow-ups weren't the best (though I did like 'Final Destination 5'). This is the best sequel, no doubt.
What I wanted going in was mindless fun and cool deaths. For me, it ticked both of those boxes with full conviction. I think I gained entertainment from every offing, which is pleasing. They are very nicely done, rather creative too. I'm sure the plot has holes, but honestly... "we don't care".
The cast are all pleasing, there isn't anyone who blew me away or anything but I did really enjoy those onscreen here. Kaitlyn Santa Juana is the standout, but Gabrielle Rose, Richard Harmon and the rest (I see you, Teo Briones of 'Chucky') are all good value. The special effects are satisfying, as well.
I will state that the film is possibly more funny than I think it intends to be, which isn't a bad thing whatsoever for me but I did sense it wasn't quite intending to be as amusing as it is in parts; even if they are, of course, going for laughs still. Maybe I'm wrong. All's well that ends well, either way.
I'd rank this higher than the original. There isn't much in it, but this does narrowly outdo that one in my opinion. Kudos to all involved, because this release could've easily went down like a lead balloon (that sounds like a plot for one of these films; I want compo if that's what FD7 turns out to be, New Line Cinema).
After 5 experimented with adding some plot to the Final Destination franchise a depressingly long time ago - and was the best instalment as a result - it's unsurprising that Bloodlines might just steal its spot at the top, for the very same reason. I love this franchise, it's one of very few horror properties that I actually like but let's not pretend before the last two, (original aside, perhaps), they were anything but fun and gory rides. Now, they're genuinely good well-rounded films as well.
Oh, and fantastic send off for the magnificent Tony Todd too.
