The back story is quite generic but the whole idea can keep me entertained throughout the movie. Poor acting can be found at places. But it is still a good film, though

About this movie you just have to say a few sentences!
The idea of the plot is amazing, but it shows us something exemplary.
If we
can wish for anything we want, we will feel happy only temporarily
!
When they did not know yet that
nothing outside remains, one would have wished certainly a ==Jaguar== or similarly expensive car!! and then? it would have stood in the living room
?
Thus it was never clarified whether
wishes are rejected by not appearing at all! And nobody has questioned whether the whole "getting it for free" has a price that one might have to fear! People distrust when they are given so much
!!
Unfortunately, many questions remain unanswered... why can't
a wish just wish something away, like the baby in the beginning? Why would you take it outside to let it "decompose"?
Why was Shane able to create this little "parallel world" outside and even become Mark's double
?
It's a shame that the script isn't really well thought out and consistent in its plot!
nevertheless, I rate this one `7/10`

A secret room in the house where everything you wish for just appears. While the pitch is interesting, the scenario is not really exploiting it.

Yeah they get crazy, money (that they don't even try to use), great clothes, great food, famous art, etc. But they go over that in just a few days. While never
even once taking something outside
, really ?
I mean it's not like the process takes a while, it disappears in a few seconds so that means they never did it even once! So what was the point of all this money ?
Then comes the main and only story, Kate wishes for
a kid
. And well, that's not very interesting. The final part, though totally expected, brings a little action and tension, but not enough to make it a good movie.

There could have been some research on how it works or where it comes from, but we're just being told that Matt is doing that, is obsessed by that even, that's it. No real insight on what he's doing or how or if he gets a lead or something, no history, no metaphysics stuff, nothing.

There could have been some exploration of what the room can do, ho far can it go, you can see the possibilities when Shane
creates a whole outside
, but not exploited either. Can it create things that do not exist ?

There could have been a price to pay that comes later. Nope.

There's a storyline with the previous owners of the house that could have led to interesting things just to find out that
they did exactly the same thing
, so not much interest here either.

So a great concept, but turns out the movie is barely using it, such a waste.

Well, it's not the worst film with this title. There was no 'oh, hi Mark' to raise a chuckle. In fact, there wasn't much to lighten the mood at all in this film. It's a dark, sombre affair that could have been better, but probably could have been a lot worse.

An interesting premise let down by somewhat weak performances all round and a lack of an imaginative story. Shame, as with a higher budget and a little more development, this could have been really really good.

The story and the argument are very good, it could have a lot of potential. The problem is that when you make a film with so few actors, you either embroider it or the story becomes predictable at almost every turn. There was only one moment that made me hesitate, but I quickly became linked to the story.

It's not a 10 for my judgment but if it has a 5, it's an approved film because as I said the plot and the story carry a lot of weight and it could have been a 10

It's not that great a movie. A couple buys a house with a magic wishing room in it. Whatever they wish for appears. They did not consider asking
what the cost of their wishes would be
. There is a clever escape sequence at the end of the movie, but it's not enough to make up for the rest of it. And the final shot was sadly expected. Overall I'd have to say skip it. Go rewatch one of your favorite movies instead.

A film that is neither entertaining nor thought-provoking. The twists are so contrived and obvious that the only surprising thing about them is that they are supposed to _be_ twists rather than the immediately apparent facts of the plot. Aside from a few moments of visual intrigue, _The Room_ has nothing to offer viewers.
