I’d agree with other comments here that Naomi is annoying in the first half, but stick with it and you end up with a pretty decent second half and a small twist that might make you question what you thought about the rest of the movie.

It’s sci-fi with some romcom elements (I know, right?) that shouldn’t be taken too seriously.

Distant (2024) - ❤x6

This is basically a story about humanity - in space - during a disaster and an inhospitable planet.

How I rate:
1-3 ❤ = seriously! don't waste your time
4-6 ❤ = you may or may not enjoy this
7-8 ❤ = I expect you will like this too
9-10 ❤ = movies and TV shows I really love!

Woah, the visuals are amazing. From the suits to the aliens, it's a planetary feast for any Sci-fi fan. The score was fine. Wanted some heaviness but got genericness instead. I loved the sound effects though. Unlike the casting, I think both the leads are great actors but at a Disney level. It tries to be realistic/raw but it just comes off as annoyingly artificial. I love space, I love aliens, I love a bit of horror. This had it all till it quickly didn't. The characters embodied the feeling of second-hand embarrassment so it was hard to enjoy any jokes. Seems like there was more distance between the cast and crew with the way it went.

The movie is average. As a fan of science fiction movies and someone who enjoys watching them, it was an interesting movie but the action scenes were a bit lacking. It's a movie that only starts to get going in the last scenes. If you like this kind of movies, I definitely recommend Atlas. As I said, it's an average movie.

30 Minutes in and it’s unbearable. Naomi doesn’t stop talking and its utter nonsense. wtf. Someone thought that shit was cute. It is not. The movie trying to be funny is a big fuckup. Did not turn out funny but made me turn my head towards my phone.

if you want to skip that endless dialog when Ramirez goes to Naomi, then just skip to the end -- it was the most logical part of this video stream, you won't get much more.

Was the script written by a 12 year old or a free version of ChatGPT?It feels dumb with a lot of stupid moments.Extremely boring!!
