_Transsiberian_ is a thrilling ride with a plot that will keep you engaged until the very end. The movie combines a great storyline with some well-executed action scenes and the cinematography does a good job capturing the vast landscapes of the trans-Siberian railway. If you're looking for a movie that will keep you entertained with both its plot and action, then _Transsiberian_ is worth a watch.

Woody Harrelson and Emily Mortimer play a naïve, generic, overly trusting American couple on a voyage across Asia in this bleak, troubling thriller. During their week-long ride on the tracks of the Trans Siberian Railway, they quickly fall in with some shady characters and methodically dig themselves into a deep, dark hole. Harrelson is overly optimistic, single minded and simple, like a railroad-obsessed slant on his character from Cheers, while Mortimer's guarded introvert tries to relive her rebellious younger years via a series of increasingly forehead-smacking decisions.

Those missteps effectively fuel the plot, though, and quietly build to a hectic, frightening climax amidst the desolate Russian snow drifts. Tense, foreboding and nasty, it's often very tough to look past the female lead's idiotic judgment. All the same, I caught myself holding my breath in suspense more than once. Effective at what it sets out to do, though it's frequently predictable; not something I'll need to watch over and over again.

Smh. Americans, lol! I don't know why so many tourists (not just Americans) deem the transsiberian railway to be a tourist-y kind of thing or whatever. It's not. You don't take it if you're a tourist. Just don't.
Anyways, I enjoyed the movie so much! it's got the good old intense thrilling scenes. It is wonderful to be on the edge of your seat waiting to see what will happen next. It's a gripping sensation. I liked it. It is a decent movie, in my opinion. However, this one was a little too long.
But, I'd like to see more "trains" movie though. They don't make many of them anymore, I noticed.
For a movie released in 2008, watching it 10 years later, it doesn't feel bad compared to new movies in the same genre that are being produced now.
It's a good movie if you have few hours to spare.

This is another one that I wanted to like more than I did. Good cast, interesting plot... it was just ok.
