Sonic the Hedgehog 2

While obviously intended for younger audiences, IT FREAKIN SLAPS. I love everything about this movie and it might just be better than the first one with it’s delivery of characters and their development! This movie did the the characters justice, something that hasn’t happened in the game franchise for a while now. EXCITED FOR THE THIRD MOVIE!!

And whilst the first sonic movie really does pack a fast-paced adventure into one movie, Sonic 2 goes the distance and more just by proving again and again how amazing our favourite characters are!!!

I absolutely love Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles!!! Knuckles beat Sonic in the base of ball one of the best lines along with Oh look, it's the Winter Soldier

Great Movie.
But if you are german, do yourself a favor - watch the english syncro!
The german dialogue book is terrible and "Julien Bam" did a horrible job with the sonic syncro. Just got the job of his popularity.
Even if you don't speak the language and compare english audio with german audio you will get the quality gap. It's day and night.

I think the first is fractionally better, mostly because it had surprise on its side. You go into this one expecting more of the same and you get more of the same, but that's not a problem. It's still a delight to experience (especially more of Jim Carrey enjoying himself again, which can never be a bad thing).

It has everything in it for making enjoyable.
after seeing that teasing at the end for shadow,i want to see them to continue with a third one.

Let’s start by saying, I’m a sucker for origin stories. I prefer the first Sonic. I simply think it is a BETTER movie. However, where this movie dips in quality, it gains in action. The action scenes in this are top notch for a family movie, and I can honestly say this was a very worthy sequel. Very much excited for Part 3 in December 2024!

This one is a lot of fun!

Although you wonder why this franchise isn't CGI only, Jim Carrey is a great addition that we wouldn't want to miss. Hollywood thinks to put CGI characters in the real world, but why not put a real actor into a CGI world?

The bad:

1. Rachel has some great moments in this film, but the humans in general just kind of take away from the experience. The wedding sub-plot would have worked better in a different movie, despite how entertaining it is. Tom and Maddie were good as origin story characters, but honestly have no place in this one.

2. There are a ton of old tropes in this film that have to be endured.

3. Although ADHD gets some representation in this franchise, nothing is done to help destigmatize it.

The good:

1. Knuckles and Tails are great characters, and were fleshed out well. The characters have some great relationships and work well together.

2. There are a lot of awesome moments, here, and some references to the original games.
The fights between Sonic and Knuckles are awesome.

3. The best parts - in the games and the movies - are when the characters just let loose and go FAST.
