I don't get the point of making this movie. The ones wathcing it will be those that have watched the original, and the original is way better...

Okay to watch, a bit cringy at times and waaaaaaay worse than the original, which was great and timeless. The dance scenes are all right though

Update after watching again: the music doesn't fit the vibe of the movie to me. And i don't remember that Ariel being this annoying.
and I dont get why
this sweet (bit rebelous) guy goes for the annoying rude crazy asshole chick, just because she is beautiful. And then she tries to commit suicide and suddenly they are dating? What happened to him being annoyed by her lmao was he playing hard to get.
Anyways I still prefer the original it's way better. And I don't really get why they wanted to remake it because it is kind of timeless.

You can clearly see they decided to put a lot more effort in the dance part of the remake than they did for the original: Kenny Wormald is actually a dancer more than an actor and his moves speak volumes ... as for the movie itself I agree this one can't even compete with the original ( except for Miles Teller, too much cute goofiness to handle!! ahahah )

I think we can all agree that they never should have tried to remake this movie. The original is a classic and there was no way this movie could ever compare, so really is was a losing prospect to begin with.

The fact the central premise seems believable shows how bizarre America really is.

I loved this version. Of course it is not the original, but this was fun to watch!

Only two ways this could have gone down. They either hire an actor who has to learn how to dance or they hire a dancer who has to learn how to act. They chose to do the latter which was the wrong decision. Because if the dancing is not good, you say oh the main character is not a good dancer. Not ideal, but not disastrous. If the acting is not good you say wow this guy can’t act at all and it takes you right out of the movie, For what it’s worth Derek Hough can both act and dance but that would have made the love story really icky with Julianne being his sister and all.
