Pretty formulaic but I like it for it. It promises a stereotypical Korean thriller and delivers exactly that. Nice pacing and overall quite enjoyable.

I didn't like it. My expectations were high. It's a very classic subject. I've watched this genre so many times, I was already guessing what would happen in the scenes. If there's no movie, watch it, I don't know if you'll like it otherwise. Thank you for your efforts anyway.

Reading the blurb for Project Silence made me believe I found another great Korean film this year...

...it ended up not being quite as good as that darn blurb led me to believe.

Don't get me wrong... when the story gets going, it's not THAT bad, but I didn't care one iota about any of the characters. Apart from the girl, not one of them was even remotely likeable. In the end, I actually ended up caring more for the dogs than the humans...

Anyway, there are quite a few instances of bad CGI, and the fog and smoke are used to hide imperfections rather than enhance them, but the action ended up being decent enough. It's just that I've seen so much better coming out of Korea lately...

Project Silence had a promising concept, but the story and the execution failed to deliver. There's no need to seek this one out unless you are curious about how not to do CGI dogs.

During fog, dozens of cars collide on the bridge. But the survivors do not yet know that no one will save them, and one of the cars was transporting dangerous live cargo. As usual, it’s more profitable for the government to let everyone die, hiding the ends in the fog. Inside, it looks like that movie about the tunnel with Sly, where the dogs of the Umbrella corporation were released. Actually, you won’t see anything else, although the heroes are trying, and the CGI is spectacular. A dumb US blockbuster came out. Koreans are losing their identity

This is a meta film within a film about actors vying to outperform one another in a foolhardy endeavor to be proclaimed the most obnoxiously annoying caricature of a trope to be captured on film. While this (probably) isn't true, adopting this faux perspective while being insulted by this inane movie might allow one to eek a sliver of enjoyment from it.

Life is short. Don't spend it watching this film. Future you experiencing the sunset of your days will thank you.

Pros:

A nameless character representing the ubiquitous _them_ who film everything on their phones is immediately attacked (and presumed to be torn apart by a poorly rendered cartoon). No doubt, the character died happy, as they watched their viewer count rise during their final moments.

Best of the Worst Awards:

It's a tie between the physics free VFX, the golf caddy and the tow truck driver.

Of Note:

Before writing this review of sorts, I saw a _new_ trailer for this film featuring an English dub that elevated the original film to unseen heights^. Truly, we are blessed... with incompetent producers who hate us.

^ No doubt secondary to bad CGI VFX. Woof!

A well made very bad movie. I laughed my ass off when that guy who was fighting all those dogs in the beginning suddenly tore off all his protection gear for no reason.

Why do they keep writing horrible people then expecting us to like them in the end when the only reason they changed is because "this situation impacted ME so now I care!" 🙄

An amalgamation of the most predictable from classic disaster movies to stereotypical Korean blockbuster melodrama with subpar CGI that looks like computer game cut scenes on a budget. The script is a disaster and every single character is annoying. Damn, let the dogs have them and the script and the director too.
