something you never watch on a horror movie, I liked. very much a lot's of satanic fun ( humour noir ) :) haha

honestly a delightful horror movie. it pokes fun of itself at the most perfect times and still manages to be genuinely scary the rest of the time.

A well done horror film that presents multiple genres to the story. Well paced, great cinematography, a substantial amount of gore, and even some body horror I didnt expect. There were moments that almost tipped into melodramatic territory, but it did well with feeling serious. As if The Conjuring, Hereditary, and Fargo had a baby.

Thoroughly enjoyed it. Worth watching.

Looking at his previous films, I’m surprised this was directed by Justin G. Dyck. I hope his next effort is even better. I’d love to see more of Konstantina Mantelos, too, she was fantastic.

A genuinely inventive and creative horror, and a lesson to anybody thinking of dabbling in the dark arts...DON'T!!! Disturbing yet enjoyable, and nearly up there with the likes of Midsommar and Hereditary.

3 Thoughts After Watching ‘Anything for Jackson’:

1. I give this film kudos for originality, some pretty haunting WTF moments, and a fantastic leading couple who surprisingly garners a fair amount of sympathy despite their wicked ways.

2. The storyline was solid and unfolded quite nicely… until it shifted more towards Ian. Then the plot become muddled, convoluted, and it became less clear what exactly was going on and why.

3. I’m all for an abrupt ending, but the punch is all the more powerful when you’re left with a closing sense of purpose and meaning. I was left with minimal impact.

I really had a good time with this movie. The demons/ghosts were pretty freaky and it had some pretty cool death scenes.

That wasn't a bad horror, fucked up thought and the cast were fair but yeah overall.. a good watch

**Setup, Pacing and Ending** (Max 3 Points)
The setup kinda made sense. The middle just felt superficial to me. Here's a cool scary thing, they disappear for a while. Ooh here's another scary thing. We don't get a deeper understanding of why the scary thing is a scary thing. A convenient catch-all explanation was given to justify what's happening on screen, but it all felt shallow and unsatisfying. Maybe just focusing on one scary thing would have made the thing more scary. The ending also failed to land. 1 point.

**Characters, Acting and Dialogue** (Max 3 Points)
The characters were quite dull and difficult to root for. I felt that the ginger demonologist of unsound mind could have been incorporated into other characters to give the story more focus. A charitable 2 points for the monster design.

**Audio, Visuals and Movement** (Max 2 Points)
1 point taken away for the meh jump scares.

**Resonance (emotional impression)** (Max 1 Point)
