Hilarious. The writers and director really know the coming of age road trip formula. It felt very nostalgic but not literally as I am a grown-ass man. Just reminds me of the really funny classics of the genre. Well-acted leads and funny blunt scenarios and writing. A joy to watch.

I see a lot of people comparing this to Booksmart and that's fair, but I liked this movie a lot more than Booksmart.

It clearly owes a lot to _Booksmart_, and while _Booksmart_ makes bolder creative and visual choices, this is still very entertaining in its own right.
The comedy has a lot of bite to it, which is becoming increasingly rare nowadays.

I don't know if this movie works as well as it did without the breakout performances of the two leads. In a lot of ways it reminded me of an edgier Booksmart - the friendship of the two leads is genuine and the movie really is a joy to watch.

I watched this on a Sunday night (the most depressing moment of the week) and it made me smile for almost two hours. American Pie meets Never Rarely Sometimes Always. Loved it.
