Before this I'd never laughed so much in a spy movie, brilliant main actors. I'd seen them in other movie so I knew it would be fun to watch but they really went above and beyond. I watched this when it was released and I watched it several times after that.

Actually better and more elaborate than I remembered. The acting is great and the dialogue and action scenes live up to that. It's realistic action with actually funny humor. This is what a action comedy should be like. (okay sure, or Johnny English)
8.5/10 for me

Loads of fun, even still. Pitt and Jolie obviously had some great chemistry. The quips between the two and the action scenes work so well.

_"Who's your Daddy now?"_

I want to start this review with this: I almost want to say that this film was a little too long. That was my spontaneous thought. But upon thinking about it, that's probably more because longer films/films creeping into the territory of two hours, like this film, or much deeper into two hours or even longer than that, are frightening, you could say. I guess if the film is pretty good, that won't matter _that_ much; first, I have to overcome that fear/apprehension concerning the decision-making process, to go on ahead and begin watching a film like that.

With that said, the length of this film doesn't seem to matter. I was thoroughly entertained, throughout me, watching it. I've seen this film before, for the first time back in August of 2018. And I remember enjoying it and being entertained. But I feel like, now, I liked it _a lot_ more.

The performances by Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were impeccable for this type of film, and their chemistry was sizzling. Not that something so obvious needs to be said/likely reiterated, but screw it: they/their characters were undoubtedly the best part of this film. And that kind of _needs_ to be the point, as they are the main characters. Duh. Well, they were, so that's a _huge_ plus.

Michael Kaplan's work as the costume designer for this film, while subtle, it was borderline impeccable. Pretty much every single outfit you see on Brad and Angelina was great. Especially Brad; the clothes wore him, not the other way around. Does that make sense? I don't think it does. I was trying to be a little cheeky there, but I probably failed. The point is: that the costume design was great. My favorite one was the suits and yellow sunglasses at the end.

And the action sequences were quite _explosive._ I was not expecting them to be so good; the firefights, especially. Mostly everything about them was surprisingly good. How the 'what' and 'how' of them were conducted, the practical/technical aspects. That aspect is yet another _huge_ plus. That's three for three.

The story wasn't much, and I'm sure some people can find instances of poor writing and the like; tearing it apart. But to me, the story didn't seem to matter that much. This film was more character-driven, with the story and narrative details being a _somewhat_ important backdrop. And I think the story and narrative details contributed _enough_ to the film, in the sense of putting good pieces on the board, but that the two main characters are what make it worth watching.

Other thoughts:

- There were some familiar faces: Vince Vaughn, Kerry Washington, Jennifer Morrison, Michelle Monaghan. The only one I've seen in another film is Vince Vaughn, though; Hacksaw Ridge. But how can you not recognize or have heard of those four?

- There were also somewhat familiar voices: Angela Bassett and Keith David. Keith's voice stood out _a lot,_ and I swear I've heard it before, but I can't remember from where, what video game, most likely. I didn't necessarily recognize Angela's voice. But I recognize her name.

- Maybe I was the only one who heard it, but Adam Brody sounded a bit like Ben Shapiro in this film: especially in the motel scene.

- The score that played during the end credits sounded very reminiscent of The Bourne Trilogy, or at least a specific Bourne film. It may have been the same one, one that was in a Bourne film. This film and _The Bourne Identity,_ the first Bourne film, were directed by Doug Liman. But upon looking it up, the more important thing is that John Powell composed both this film and _The Bourne Identity,_ so there you go. That's why the score during the credits sounded like a score you'd hear in one or more of the Bourne films.

In short, I loved this film quite a bit. The performances by Brad and Angelina/their characters, the action, the outfits, and even the humorous moments, were all pretty decent and elevated the watching experience. I think this film was a classic, and if it's not _considered_ one, that's a shame, IMHO. Just like _This Means War,_ this film is at a high level of rewatchability, but even more. I feel like the former was funnier, while this film was better.

Energetic action flick. No real complaints about this movie. I really want to say something bad, but I cannot. I was entertained the whole time.

How can you not like this film? humor and action in the right dose, the chemistry that these two have is sensational, them arguing at the same time as they work together, there is a total harmony at the same time as it is chaotic, I always have a lot of fun watching it.

this was a fantastic movie when it came out and it's still so much fun to watch 16 years later. you can tell they had a blast filming this movie, and the quality is amazing. definitely one of my go-to's for action-romance.
