Hilda remains endlessly daring and imaginative, and as it’s gone it’s grounded the fantastical in real emotion. The movie carries that perfectly, making you feel for every character, while still having whimsy and adventure. The animation is gorgeous as ever, the lore delectable, and it never rests on its laurels. Season 3 will be all new territory, and I can’t wait.
If you haven't watched the Hilda series yet- that is highly recommended first. This movie is the climax of our main plot. The movie is high quality and picks up perfectly where the series left off. The pacing and transitions were perfect and engaging the entire time. it's a difficult movie to be on the phone and watch at the same time, there's always something important happening. Excellent movie and I can't wait for more!
excellent ... as good as the "Hilda" series ... which I also recommend.
Much like Hilda herself, this well-put-together and downright charming movie is a must-watch for fans of the series, though it is required to see what happens at the end of season 2 to understand what is going on. Although I do have some nitpicks, the good stuff is just too good to ignore. Here is to hoping there will be a third season in the works because I believe we haven't seen the last of Hilda's adventures yet.
