It's an adorable coming of age story. I was actually quite surprised because I'm not a big of Lena Dunham, but this was done in such an earnest and light-hearted way, any girl of any culture will be able to relate, even if the thing they must conform to isn't marriage. Because it doesn't matter where or when you are born, there's always something. Bella was brilliant, and it was a delight seeing Billie Piper playing the doting mother. Also, the photography was quite pretty, the dialogue was cheeky, the soundtrack decent, making this an overall delightful experience.

Hilarious take on 13th century life of a girl becoming a woman. Had me laughing and heartwarmingly-crying. Great cast and, as usual, fantastic job by Andrew Scott. I'm so excited to see Bella's Ramsey's career moving forward - she is so incredibly talented and likeable.

A delightful and touching coming-of-age story I would definitely recommend to young girls AND boys

I enjoyed this. It is part of the new trend of layering a period piece with contemporary jargon and behaviour, that irritated me in DICKINSON to the point I couldn’t watch it. But, either I’ve become accustomed to it or it was done with a lighter hand here, I didn’t mind it too much. Of course, it could have been because Belle Ramsey brought a joyful affect to the piece (she sounds so much older in a UK accent). Billie Piper, Lesley Sharp and the supporting cast were delightful. I give this film a 7 (joyful) out of 10. [Comedic Adventure]

With a sharp and witty script from Dunham and a standout turn from Ramsey, this is a funny and timely movie that has much to recommend it.

Brilliant cast and cinematography but more importantly just straight up cute coming if age story. It won’t change your life enough to warrant a 10/10 but deserves a lot better than the 6/10. If not for extensive storyline but for the feel good-ness of the film.

Flat, despite the charming talent on display. aAnd it's getting a little hackneyed, these little revisionist fairy tales.

Most parts of this story drug on and bored me. Nice to see Billie Piper. But I would pass on thus if I could.
