Meet Cute

A wildly inventive deconstruction of the romantic comedy built around the question: What would you do if you could travel to your loved ones’ past, heal their traumas, fix their problems, and change them into the perfect partner?

I don't care about reviews. but this movie really delivered.
It's romantic and desperate. Actors really delivered a great performance.
I promise any two couples will enjoy this movie.
There is something about Pete he always chooses good projects. This is a actually a good movie. A MUST WATCH!
I love this kind of movie, I feel like it’s really hard for directors to make the choice to take on a film with this concepts after we’ve seen many good and bad versions. Personally I didn’t like Happy Death Day. I somewhat related to both lead characters and their struggles.
Yes, it is a toxic romcom, it doesn’t shine a great light on their relationship going forward, but I feel like they both changed each other so much in that one day and at the end you can really see how those choices pay off. Love goes through struggles all the time and I think Sheila and Gary are going to be better for each other after this chaotic date night.
Are we just ignoring the fact that dead-Sheila is still in the trunk of alive-Sheila's car?
I had never heard of this movie until I saw it advertised on Peacock. Time travel rom com with Pete Davidson and Kaley Cuoco? What could go wrong? Let’s just say, it’s more understandably straight to Peacock than it is near the top of either of the two leads best work. It’s certainly serviceable. Mildly entertaining. But also, there’s just better comparable movies out there. Did I enjoy myself? Absolutely. Would I rather watch Palm Springs 9 times out of 10 over this? Hell yeah.
Rating: 2.5/5 - 7/10 - Worth Watching
Good funny, easy to watch
❤x7
This was better than expected. It actually had me choking up a little at the end. Cuoco really showed some depth here.
This is a different kind of Groundhogs Day. It's a Groundhogs Day by choice.
How I rate:
1-3 ❤ = seriously! don't waste your time
4-6 ❤ = you may or may not enjoy this
7-8 ❤ = I expect you will like this too
9-10 ❤ = movies and TV shows I really love!
This movie tackles serious topics while (whilst?) oscillating between dark and silly humor. I don’t think this will be a rewatch but if I had a Time Machine, I wouldn’t go back and change a thing. I think it was perfectly cast. There are some inconsistencies but the underlying message is there. It’s a good movie to watch while you’re avoiding responsibilities.
I honestly feel like this movie actually delivered on a lot of aspects. It definitely has a vision and a theme, which I appreciate, and it didn’t feel boring at any moment (even if frustrating at times).
My review for We Got This Covered here: https://wegotthiscovered.com/reviews/review-kaley-cuoco-and-pete-davidson-rewrite-the-future-of-rom-coms-in-meet-cute/
This deals with more serious issues than other movies of its kind but despite some brave choices, the end result is still a little underwhelming.
