Sometimes I Think About Dying

Watched Sometimes I Think About Dying by myself at my house. I loved it. I was hooked the whole time for a movie where barely anything happens. The awkward social interaction questioning and anxiety made me really feel for her. Emptiness, isolation, and depression. I remember getting interested because I saw clips of the depiction on her anxiety and the film didn’t do as much artistic emphasis on that. I wish it did a little more. Great movie to watch alone. Connor 10, normal 9.

Everything revolves around Fran, played by Daisy Ridley, who delivers a wonderful performance. Fran is a melancholic character, with few words and expressions that are often apathetic or withdrawn. In this way, she captivates intensely through her ability to observe and react genuinely to what happens around her. The story has an atmosphere of sadness, but there are also moments of humor that happen naturally and a fascinating dynamic between the characters, based on very well constructed dialogues.

This movie isn't going to be for everyone. As someone who is an introvert and has sometimes struggled witch social interaction, I was fascinated by the main character. She was clearly in pain and fighting the urge to maintain her isolation, but what really showed through was her hope. There was a real courage in there that I don't think that most would understand.

A self-aware, awkward, realistic, beautiful, nerve-wracking lesson. This isn't a movie you watch for fun but to observe and understand. Exactly like being in the mind of someone with depression. Dull, boring, repetative, long. Holding onto every bit of interest you have left. The dialogue was awfully good because I could imagine it taking place in real life. The acting from Daisy was subtle yet dramatic, probably one of the most realistic cries iv witnessed. I loved how every single shot was still and unbelievably beautiful. Oh, and the movieness within a movie is always so weirdly exciting.

So much better than it should be. Charming, awkward, and melancholic. A very rich musical soundtrack. I'm hesitantly impressed.

I liked the visuals and I was intrigued to know how it would end. But so boring, not much happens at all.

Quirkily enjoyable. Not a lot happens...but in a way... a heck of a lot happens. Nice ending.

IYKYK. This movie was made for, and about, a very specific group of people. I get it, I feel this.
