When we talk about Formula 1 racing, the first things that come to mind are speed and excitement. And who better to describe that feeling than Lewis Hamilton? It's enough to say that he’s the joint record-holder for the most Formula 1 championship wins, alongside Michael Schumacher — and he was also one of the producers of this film!
The movie takes place in the thrilling world of Formula 1, where Brad Pitt plays a retired driver named Sonny Hayes. After years away from the sport, he returns to the track to coach a young, talented driver named Joshua “Noah” Pearce, portrayed by Damson Idris. All of this happens within a fictional team called “APX Grand Prix.”
As for Brad Pitt’s performance — he absolutely nailed it! He conveyed the real feeling of being a racer on the track. One of the unique things about this movie is that they used Formula 2 cars modified to look like Formula 1 cars. Brad really brought back the vibe of “Top Gun: Maverick.” His acting reminded me of Tom Cruise, but with less action and more drama. Honestly, I loved his performance and gave it a perfect score.
Damson was amazing too. He did a great job playing the ambitious young driver aiming for the podium. I could really feel the passion and drive in his character.
The rest of the cast? Most of them are actual Formula 1 drivers, and their performances felt natural and authentic.
The movie is directed by the great Joseph Kosinski — the same director behind "Top Gun: Maverick" — which got me excited to see what he would bring this time. What I loved most is that a lot of the footage was real. They filmed eight actual races on real Formula 1 tracks!
I also want to give credit to Lewis Hamilton, who was part of the production team. He helped make the film feel real, like you’re the one actually racing.
And the cinematography? Honestly, calling it “amazing” would be an understatement. They used original, real footage without relying too much on visual effects, which gave the movie a very raw, realistic feel.
For your information, scenes were filmed on real F1 race weekends — Friday, Saturday, and Sunday — using Formula 2 cars modified to look like F1 cars to achieve maximum realism.
The soundtrack was fantastic too. It pulled me into every moment, and some of the tracks were so good I actually looked them up afterward.
Honestly? From my perspective, this film was flawless.
My rating: 10/10
Surprisingly the best movie of 2025 hands down
Those criticising the movie often forgets what movies are for. They never said it's a biography or based on real incidents etc, it's a movie for entertainment and is about the sport which tbh not many follows. So if the movie impacts so much to the audience and it makes a non follower, follow the sports, then i feel that movie is doing what it is suppose to and this movie have done that beautifully. It got it's cheesey moments but non feel out of the ordinary. The music and story might have been stolen/inspired by top gun or other movies but they don't necessarily feel out of scope. Tbh many pretty scenes left me speechless, i fwlt like i have known those scenes but yet can't make it out because they were repurposed so well that they took the identity of this very movie. This is called art. They made the movie with love and somewhere like the protagonist they forgot what is needed and made the movie for their passion. People can disagree with me, it's their opinion but we need more movies like these, made with love for what they do. And for those comparing with rush and ford v ferrari need to understand that it ain't based on real incident/people, they could have put shrek into the car for what is worth for entertainment, it's all about how they pull the story and make the audience believe in the story and in the sport. And just to give another perspective to this same point, idk how many noticed but Lewis Hamilton is one of the producers, so they were not shooting in the dark, they had a mind in a race car whose brain they could pick and imo, they rightly did. I'll most likely be rewatching it.
This is absolutely cinema i love it
Top gun for race cars!A masterful experience. They did a phenomenal job with practical effects and race scenes.Brad is magnificent, he never does bad movies.Hans Zimmer soundtrack is epic as always.

A fucking 10! Enjoyed every minute
I don’t know sh*t about F1 except that it’s fast but this is the best movie I’ve seen this year. Acting was great , story is basic and what you’d expect. But the sound and cinematic experience of the cars is out of this world. If you didn’t see this in the theatre then do yourself a favour and watch it on a projector , don’t watch this on a TV smaller than 85” or with no surround sound as you’ll be missing out
soundtrack had me on edge
Made for Petrol-heads by Petrol-heads. What a ride. :thumbsup_tone2:
All the lead actors were amazing. The cameos by real F1 drivers and personalities made the movie feel very authentic. However, I really liked the performance by Kerry Condon.

PS: I gave this an 8 yesterday after watching this for the very first time, in my scale an 8 means I will definitely watch it sometime in the future and will enjoy the movie. I desperately needed another hit sooner than that. Watched it again today. Noticed some more subtle things and cameos while feeling the same rush..... Just shut up and take my 10.
