Lethal Weapon 4 (1998) – Review
Rating: 9/10

One great movie again. This time, they’re really old. No more long-haired Riggs. I thought his old dog was gone, but turns out he’s still alive — and now they have two dogs.

It felt strange that such a successful woman is now just staying at home as a mother. That part didn’t make much sense to me.

It’s also sad to see how old they’ve gotten after four films. Riggs can’t even fight like before. No more lethal in Lethal Weapon. Still, there are really great scenes — like when Murtaugh tries to protect Riggs while he’s being dragged down the road.

The main villain, the Chinese guy, looks unbeatable. But somehow, Riggs still kills him in the end. I kept thinking maybe Riggs or his partner would die — the tension was real. And like always, through all four movies, they keep chasing criminals on highways with no backup or help. Classic.

The scene where they get stoned from the nitrous was really funny. In the final scenes, I honestly felt scared they would die — but they survived. They're older, but still strong, and they keep fighting.

The graveyard scene was powerful. Then the ending was heartwarming — kids, marriage, family. Leo is a real friend now. They don’t treat him badly anymore.

And that camera freeze-frame ending... it reminds you of the '90s in the best way.

Not good as much as first and second movie but equal to third movie. Finishing the series with this movie is right choice.

"I can't go out with you. I'm in a relationship, I'm very happy. Now you'll find somebody someday, but you've got to stop bothering me..."

Again I laughed my ass off when they move the trash container under Riggs (Gibson) and the guy in handcuffs helps them move it under him. So damn funny.

Anyway Lethal Weapon 4 is still a fun movie. Yes Mel Gibson lost his mullet but I can watch him banter with Danny Glover for hours and hours. Chris Rock is even a decent addition to the family, we get the great scene with Uncle Benny (Kim Chan), Joe Pesci is still here as Leo, Rene Russo is back, everyone coming back is still amazing. Which really helps.

They even add Jet Li as the villain this time and after Gary Busey, he is the most memorable villain of the series. He plays his usual role but as a villain this time and it works. The final fight between Jet Li, Danny Glover and Mel Gibson was shot wonderfully.

In the end this might be the weakest entry in the franchise but it is still a fun one.

Number 4 is again good, though shy of great. It is still above average entertainment that is worth your time.

Still love all 4 of them, can re-watch it many times, despite some weak parts. Good old times! They don't make movies like this anymore.

Well, its OK, but I think the addition of Cole and Butter as main characters (or at least of more than solely support actors) seems unnecessary to me! Getz is annoying enough, there is no need for another two of them...
But over all its 2 hours of fun and entertainment, thats it. Unfortunately there isn't much that would compel you to watch LW4 again and again.
