The Black Pharaoh, the Savage and the Princess

Three tales, three ages, three worlds. At the time of Ancient Egypt, a young king becomes the first black pharaoh to deserve the hand of his loved one. During the French Middle Ages, a mysterious wild boy steals from the rich to give to the poor. In 18th-century Turkey, a prince of pastries and a princess of roses escape the palace to live their love.
Like trying to sleep on stairs, this movie is a little uneven.
This anthology cartoon by the creator of Kirikou lulled into a false sense of serenity with its first two tales (I found the second to be especially poetic), but then the third one jarred me back to reality and make me question how much I really liked the others.
If you're looking for some simple animated bedtime stories (and don't mind an occasional overdose of computer art) this may be what you're looking for.
