I enjoyed this a lot! Fonda and Tomlin are amazing together as usual. Original story, very funny, and a satisfying ending. 👍

I think I’ll just go rewatch 9 to 5

Well the only other written review gave it a 7 but said he would just go re-watch "9 to 5". Seems like a high score for something he's shitting on....

But okay, I gave it a 6. It's cute, well acted, but just missing that something to knock it out of the park. Maybe it's the fact it centers around a 46 year old rape and the ahole that did the rape seems oblivious to the damage it did. Worse has zero remorse for the rape because all too often for the Boomer and GenX generations rape was a man's right if he imagined you looked at him the way he wished you would. It doesn't outright confront the rape, but rather let's him continue to blame his victim. The ending drums down the poetic moment, but it's supposed to be a comedy. Hard to make confronting rape funny, especially when some men still claim victim after they raped someone. Not sure they could've made it a 7 or 8. It's a tough subject to wrap into a comedy.

oh god, the tone is so excruciatingly at odds with itself. when I saw that Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin were teeming up again after the end of Grace and Frankie, I was excited to watch what else they were gonna do together. but I don't know which one is worse, this one or 80 for Brady.

Move on from this dull mess. Badly directed by the usually reliable Weitz. Fonda and Tomlin are okay but they are pulled down by the maudlin script.

Not quite what I expected, the plot isn’t really what I was hoping for (too many threads left hanging and too little actual closure) and I am a bit disappointed by the acting as well. It’s still a good movie but unfortunately not the great one I hoped for.
