Phantoms

In the peaceful Colorado town of Snowfield, something evil has wiped out the community. And now, it's up to a group of people to stop it, or at least get out of Snowfield alive.

Suspenseful, kept me on the edge.
This is a good x-file… good to watch once in a while and not to take very seriously
“Affleck is the bomb in Phantoms, yo!” Based on a novel by Dean Koontz, Phantoms follows the mysterious disappearance of a small town’s entire population by a supernatural creature. Ben Affleck leads the cast and is joined by Peter O’Toole, Rose McGowan, and Liev Schreiber. And, director Joe Chappelle does an impressive job at creating an atmospheric and suspenseful tone that’s rather disturbing. However, the special effects work is kind of poor and weakens the scares a bit. While Phantoms does feel derivative of other works, it’s still a chilling horror film. Plus....Affleck.

First half of this feels like a very different movie than the second half. There is a church scene that gives me The Thing vibes (which I love), but then it goes back being odd and cheesy. First half is great though.
I don't know what to make of this movie: the first part of it is a really good and intense horror thriller. But the 2nd one is a stupid and not believable Sci-Fi flick the world does not need! I would recommend to forget "Phantoms" or at least turn of the TV after about 45 Minutes...
