very well written and very good acting Michael Keaton and Kaitlyn Dever are fantastic all around just a great show about a subject that needed some exposure i never knew so many people got addicted to this drug so easily the company and executives who pushed it should pay dearly

For me this is the winner for this year's Golden Globes, a series that was not heard at all, It has not the glamour of squidgame or 100.000.000 people saw it, it is a marvellous diamond.

After the excellent Dr. Death, a corresponding theme series that is simply a masterpiece. You do not know what to praise first, the incredible script, the director tricks with the back and forth and where you are that now we saw this and then takes you even further back to show you how he reached in this part of the story! I do not live in the US so i don't know the actual impact and valid facts only what i've seen from movies/shows about OxyContin but the presentation was amazing.

Special mention to Kaitlyn Dever who since she left that miserable politicised comedy she was playing and after the amazing Unbelievable, she now gives another excellent dramatic performance.

This is a MUST see.

If you want a detailed understanding of exactly what started the opioid crisis, told in an engaging way through excellent acting, writing, and storytelling in a dramatisation, this is for you.

I'd also recommend it to lovers of "police investigation into government/corporate conspiracy" type shows even if you have zero interest in prescription drugs themselves, because this is possibly the biggest real life example of corporate and state collusion in mass deception and corruption in history... that we know of, at least.

I used to be hooked on the nasty shit myself and this show also does an amazing job demonstrating exactly how an ordinary person can become addicted, and even how ordinary well meaning doctors ended up over-prescribing due to all the lies Big Pharma told them, in a very empathetic manner. I really appreciate that detail.

Dopesick isn’t easy to watch, but it’s definitely easy to recommend. Harsh, raw, and essential, it dives headfirst into one of the most devastating health crises of recent decades: the opioid epidemic in the United States. It doesn’t pull any punches, weaving together characters from every angle — doctors, FBI agents, victims, prosecutors — with a common enemy that has a very real name: Purdue Pharma. And the most chilling part is that everything it shows actually happened.

Michael Keaton is outstanding, but he’s not the only one who shines. There are moments of intense drama and emotion, always with the same message in sight: this is a story about a system that allowed a pharmaceutical company to buy influence, lie shamelessly, and cause thousands of deaths while making billions. And although justice arrives late, at least it arrives.

Narratively, it may lose a bit of pace at times, and the constant timeline shifts can be disorienting at first, but once it all starts to come together, the result is gripping. And when the puzzle pieces finally fit, the impact is huge. Dopesick is one of those series that stirs you and makes you think — but also keeps you hooked. Exactly what a great true story should do.
