OOOOOOOOOO! FORTNITE, HOW DARE YOU ADDICT EVERYONE! THAT’S IT, I’M GONNA BAN YOU!
**THIS** is how you reboot a franchise!
Rather than a simple re-hash of the original Looney Toons and Merry Melodies characters, this show posited the idea that in Toonland, the old generation, Bugs Bunny, Porky Pig, and Daffy Duck, etc are professors at Acme Looniversity teaching a new generation of young cartoon characters how to be cartoon stars. In the classes, the students are learning about cartoon physics, cartoon timing, and how to safely be struck in the head with a frying pan without dying. _Very Clever!_
Compared to _Animaniacs_, which debuted a few years later, the animation of Tiny Toons was of a much lower quality, but the idea for the show was very creative and didn't force the audience to bear the cringe of a new voice and new, modern sensibilities interjected into beloved characters. They managed to create a world where the old and the new existed in the same space, while the new generation of characters _based_ on the original characters took the mantle of toon-based comedy and faithfully executed new adventures _building on_ and not _replacing_ the old.
