The Beverly Hillbillies

Jed Clampett's swamp is loaded with oil. When a wildcatter discovers the huge pool, Jed sells his land to the O.K. Oil Company and at the urging of cousin Pearl, moves his family to a 35-room mansion in Beverly Hills, California.
Mildly amusing American comedy "of its time". The first series includes some standout episodes with the "old home", poverty stricken Clampett family striking it rich, moving to Beverly Hills, and finding the way that wealthy people behave extremely confusing (the Clampetts' banker - Drysdale - is a brilliant character). But after that first series, there was little to mine. Plots became at first repetitive and then desperate. An abject lesson to quit while you're ahead.
