Carmen Curlers

In 1963, a business adventure begins in a basement in a small Danish town. Within a few years, the company has 3500 employees, many of them women who are experiencing for the first time the joys and challenges of earning their own money.
[NRK] It manages to turn a plot with few expectations, about the invention of the electric hair curler, into a portrait of the emancipation of women in the sixties, surrounding the extravagant Danish businessman with a series of characters whose subplots feed the main story offering a more general look towards a time of change. It's not really that different from the family period series characteristic of the Danish public channel DR, but it introduces humor and elegant staging that allows for the colorful atmosphere of the 60s.
