I'm really digging this so far... psychology, smart, and a bit of fun too.

Talking a hostage holding a baby into giving up and putting down his gun by
laying out *alll* the options after he gets a helicopter , will he kill the baby, the helicopter pilot etc?
Not much of a spoiler, that is first 2 minutes of ep 1.

It's something to watch. Somewhat entertaining. It reminds me of 'Lie to me'.

The Irrational (2024) - ❤x6

Just another average cop procedural. The gimmick here being able to see and interpret the irrational is not that big of a draw. It's just mildly interesting. It is very similar to Lie To Me (2009) which I enjoyed more than this show.

How I rate:
1-3 ❤ = seriously! don't waste your time
4-6 ❤ = you may or may not enjoy this
7-8 ❤ = I expect you will like this too
9-10 ❤ = movies and TV shows I really love!

THREE THOUGHTS on why this is meh:

1) The infallible weirdo genius, the ex wife, the trauma, the flashbacks, the top model intern, the nerdy oriental assistant that gets the top model intern in the end because brains are so much more important than looks, the cases that always reveal the least likely suspect to be the killer, ...

It is all so predictable. We've seen this a hundred times before. At the Lightman Group or The Mentalist or Life etc etc etc

2) And it's not done well enough so we could look past the clichés. Maybe it's just getting started and later episodes will be better but the start is just very, very mediocre.

3) I loved the main actor in Law and Order, but he might not be main actor material. He doesnt seem interesting or charismatic enough to be able to carry the show on his own the way Monk or the Mentalist or Peter Ustinov or Robert Goren could. He's very good in a team or duo, but on his own? Not seeing it.

-----
Bottomline: an okay show if you're looking for a mix between Lie to Me, Monk and The Mentalist. We couldnt bring ourselves to watch more than a couple of episodes though. Not in 2025.

Just the fact that Jesse L. Martin is in this show I've been anticapting it since I saw the ads for it. He has that mellow attitude and fatherly advice look. I hope it lives up to what I think this show will become.

One of the best show on Tv now. Never boring. If the advise on show is true it keeps you thinking.
