Absolute chaos. Genius chaos! This is gonna change tv comedies the way The Office did back in 2005.
Damn you haters! No real purpose, amazing cast and does nothing with it… that is just plain idiotic nonsense. You cannot expect that everyone has a leading role. Thats why you have guest roles that make a good story work. The magic is in the details, not putting 20 actors on screen all the time… even the budget would be astronomical!
Very funny and great cinematography. I also love all the cameos they were able to get and the characters they were able to make the characters play. The only thing I didn't like, but I don't think is a bad thing I can knock against the show, is that some of the episodes and moments are so cringeworthy I have to like skip through to watch because I get so much second hand embarassment. Overall, one of my favorite comedies, and am happy it will be getting a season 2. Light 9/10
Absolutely outstanding. Few shows, or movies for that matter, can pull off such incredibly outrageous escalation of tension to such hilarious heights, and yet here they pull it off virtually every episode, with a few dizzying standouts (ep 1, 2, 9 / 10). The comedic timing is perfection, the writing is sharp, acting is pitch perfect, and honestly quite a few episodes explore legitimately timely subjects in surprisingly nuanced fashion. Seth Rogan is stellar and the absolute heart and soul of the show, yet his character only works because of everyone else he's surrounded by, each of whom are fantastic in their own right. There are brilliant cameos throughout, and I love the typical restraint with which they're all written as it helps keep the show grounded in reality. With that said however the absolute highlight personally is Bryan Cranston in episode 9/10 who gives a truly iconic, messy and outrageous performance. Think Walter White as written by Hunter S Thompson. Honestly though the last two episodes are perhaps the most realistic portrayal of the absurdity of tripping I've ever seen on screen, at least in several moments, and every character brings their A game, including Zoe Kravitz who was truly hilarious and adorable as well. My god, this show is the shit. So funny, so relevant and just a great time throughout. Oh, and it's beautifully shot too. Solid 9/10.
Brilliant show, fantastic cameos, celebrities actually playing their worst self no one is in fear of showing their self when what they are known to be "bitch" about. Dialogues and lines fast and clever, actually some laugh out lout moments.
Wasn't expecting to like this as much as i did, especially considering I'm not much of a Seth Rogan fan. They absolutely knocked it out of the ball park. Extremely stylish, well executed, and all the actors were on point. Can't wait for season 2
Only two episodes in, and I can already tell this is going to be iconic, like a token for all the cinephiles. The amount of references is bonkers and the level of information/appreciation goes beyond inspiring. Although nothing is as sharp as the ridiculous satire and stunning cinematography. Wasn't too sure about Seth but all the star-studded cast members and cameos deliver exactly what you want in the Hollywood style you want it. The premise isn't new, but the execution is by far the best attempt yet. You probably won't feel the full effect if you're clueless about cinema. Most Apple shows turn stale by s2 but I can't see how that's possible with this, so I hope there's more.
I just would like to thank Sal Saperstein ❤ lol Brilliant series!
Really hilarious and seemingly accurate satirical depiction of Hollywood that really commits to bits and uses entire episodes to explore each idea.
This show is so damn good. Each episode is like a mini movie. It has a lot potential here, and apple tv are slowly cementing themselves as the new age HBO.
