Yuri on Ice is the purest anime i've ever watched. it not only deals with failure and mental illness& recovery; it also brought us the most wholesome gay sports romance of ((DARE I SAY)) the decade. Where in the beginning it seems silly and a little queerbaiting it makes up for with a spectacular plot twist that explains. EVERYTHING.
thank you Kubo-sensei for bringing something good to 2016!!!!
It beautifully depicts a romantic relationship, friendship, high level competition and how imperfect everyone is. Absolutely amazing!
Wholesome and uplifting with nail-biting competitions that made me sooo nervous on first watch. The main cast is great, but Yuri really shines. He feels real and it's so easy to root for him. The animations and music are absolutely gorgeous.
The characters face the very mature struggles of finding your strength, dealing with aging, and handling creative burnout. I love how seriously the creators took their main characters; their motivations and actions feel very realistic. Amazing character development for each of the main cast.
The only thing bad about this show is that we haven't gotten any more. Luckily, the details of the main cast's development are so fine-tuned that rewatches are a fantastic experience. It's an anime that demands your full attention or you might miss something.
The pacing is incredibly quick as well, so it's a fast watch, but I would've loved if they had stretched it out just a little more.
its crazy how much i LOVE this show!!! i cant explain but OMG i LOVE it so badddd!!!
This is the gayest thing I've ever watched and I am beyond happy for it's existence. God has touched us with his etherial light and graced us with his love.
I loved it. Can't wait to see the movie and another season.
Hoping they won't be pg-13.
9.5/10 (if only trakt supported that)
By rights, I should give this season an 8 (my per-episode ratings average out to 8.41). But I enjoyed it a lot more than that. I don't feel like a 10 is completely justified, since I did have a few bones to pick with the narrative, but a 9 is a bit shy of what the show deserves.
Given the "SEE YOU NEXT LEVEL" tag at the end of the season, I can only speculate that a second season is planned (or at least, pitched). I would gladly watch more of this.
looooooooove looooooove it... got too attached... so relatable in many ways... sooooo funny I laughed a lot watching it.... beautifully made .... love them so much.... all the characters are my babies and I love them.... Victor pick me... I need need need the movie or season 2... 12 eps are not enough... I miss them already...yuri is me I am yuri... yurio my kitty...)
This show is a blessing. It deals with anxiety, depression, failing and having to pick yourself back up again, and the need and want to be the best that you can be. You really feel for all of these characters and their failures and their triumphs. First anime I watched and I am forever in love. Can't wait for season 2!!
real angels made this show
