The wild story of young William Shakespeare's arrival onto the punk-rock theater scene in 16th century London -- the seductive, violent world where his raw talent faced rioting audiences, religious fanatics and raucous side-shows. It's a contemporary version of Shakespeare's life, played to a modern soundtrack that exposes all his recklessness, lustful temptations and brilliance.
I was pleasantly surprised after watching episodes 1 & 2 which followed each other on the same day. I have not watched much from TnT although I prefer cable channels to the main networks. My husband loves Shakespeare but as for me, it's all a wawawa mumbo jumbo. So far, the show does not have much of that lingo although as the story progresses, I assume it will get more detailed. Anyway, it's very action packed, on the edge, and the main actor is very easy on the eyes. The only thing I don't like is the torture. Definitely should be rated as R.
