You need to be able to take quite some brutality.
While I think they could have easily ejected some story scenarios, and there were quite some questions unanswered throughout the anime, I think the ending comes with an interesting statement:
No matter who you are, you will always be a human.
I felt that single statement, given the characters, was incredible simple and deep at the same time, and sends an important message. It was absolutely impactful for me.

Rachel's desire to die is full of intrincacies relating to the perception of herself, of God, and absolution. This makes her come off as contradictory, since it seems that she's finding excuses not to die. She keeps reminding Zack of their promise, which is pretty annoying for us, observers, but that's how her damaged mind works, that's all her apathetic nature cares about. It's what the past experiences with her parents turned her into.

Yet, she still has a human nature, which is seldom visible, but more so in the last episodes. That's what drove the priest so curious about her, saying she's "irregular", and why he asked her so many questions, especially regarding who she is. She seems to be a cold bitch, but you know that ain't true.

The other characters are as batshit as her, but they have an external obsession, that is, their obsession is related to external things, whereas Rachel's is with herself and her death. The only normal characters are Zack and the priest. Zack is a monster, in a sense, but also pure in his simplicity. Unlike the other characters, he has no obsession, even though he has a fucked up past.

It's an intriguing anime, pretty confusing at first, but makes sense as the story progresses. It made me feel a bit disturbed, which means it was somehow impactful. Not bad if you like abnormal psychology, but not superb either.

It started really good but then I got really boring by it, I still don't know why they didn't do it in 12 episodes, it only dragged the talking. But I enjoyed to get to know who Rachel really was and I loved the way Zack talks.

It was okay. Poetic I suppose, but I don't think I am the intended audience for this show. Short, which was nice, but overall the show was just something I watched. Nothing particular fanciful to make me rave about it. I did like the outro song though!

This is the worst anime I have seen in the last three years.

This is a weird show. I don’t get the conceit at all. What is the point of all this? Don’t get me wrong I never miss an episode.
