Is everyone in the world actually this touchy? Love the show but are actual people always this messy. I promise I'm not an alien trying to understand humans.

This show is very good. The cast is very good. The story is very good. HOWEVER, it's simply not as good as Parenthood or This Is Us. Both shows do the same thing where it creates a wide base of cast that are all connected and dealing with the everyday problems of life. The stories are always full of heart, relatable, and make you tune in every week. My only problem with this show compared to the other two is that there was a period in the middle seasons that seemed to get so gung ho hitting every possible political/controversial topic that it felt like a soap opera for awhile. With this being said, everyone should check out this show because there is a chance you will love it! The ending is also one of the shows that wraps it up in a quality way.

Average Season Review: 7.7/10

Recommendation: At Least Give it a Whirl (For ABC/NBC Family Drama Fans)

It is a lovely show but characters feel a bit fake. Every friend in this series represent a series social/physical/psychological issue. Friend No.1 the Mexican had cancer and has severe commitment issues. Friend No.2 African American have depression and is has had suffered racism his whole life. Friend No.3 Caucasian is a recovering alcoholic who is later crippled. I am all for diversity. But the show sometimes feels like a preachy show. I liked the show despite all this.

Really enjoyed the start of Season 1, but as it's unfolded it feels like it's becoming a soap opera. Not going to continue with Season 2.

So, which exec at ABC network said, "We need some melodramatic crap like This Is Us, get on that ASAP."?

Just watched the first episode, and I am not sure, if I want to keep watching. The acting is good, the characters seem interesting. But:
The first episode needs a trigger warning for suicide, suicide attempt, alcohol addiction, cancer, loss of a loved one/parent, betrayal, cheating...
I think, that's just too much drama for me.
