Certainly a bit cheesy and corny and unrealistic for a horror movie, but at the same time realistic based off of live stats on murders. A great sequel in this trilogy. Definitely had you on the edge of your seat from minute one although the plot was a bit, rushed into despite it being a sequel and continuation, right where we left off. Other than that, though the suspense and filming was spectacular and the main character did a great job. Always enjoyed this strange storyline, but the deep thickness of this plot and the introduction of the background to it made it so much better. Wish it didn’t and on such a big cliffhanger wish it was a bit smaller with some more context left in the movie, but it definitely makes you want to come back.

This was one of my most anticipated movies of the year. I’ve always had a huge love for this franchise. I try my best to avoid trailers but I actually did see this one. I thought it looked amazing and so much better than the first one. I kept my expectations fair but still had hopes that I would enjoy it. I’m happy to report that I did enjoy it but it did leave a bit to be desired.

This is almost entirely a horror movie that spends the entire time with the main character being chased. I think a lot of horror movies today lack incredible chase scenes like we got back in the 90s but this was probably a bit much. I thought Madelaine Petsch was great here. She essentially has to carry the entire movie on her shoulders and I thought she did that really well. I thought some of the camera work was really clever and engaging. I really liked the chase sequences, especially the one in this hospital. But I did feel like it dragged at moments the longer this went on. We get some of the backstory into some of the strangers. I’m kind of mixed on my thoughts on that. On one hand it’s pretty cool to see how they got started but on the other hand it could’ve been done better. It’s plenty suspenseful and pretty fast paced but left a lot of meat on the bone. I kind of expected that considering this was always going to be a trilogy. It left me wanting more and super excited to see how they wrap things up in the next one.

* Double Feature at AMC Crestwood 18

Better than the first chapter. Many of the scenes felt the exact same and the characters made absolutely terrible decisions. I did like the backstory stuff however and I also thought that they did a good job creating confusion on who the killers are.

My reaction to the Strangers Chapter 1: Why does this exist? It's serviceable as a generic home invasion movie, has a couple effective moments, the connective tissue is weak and unfinished (thanks trilogy format) - but why is it called The Strangers? It does everything the first one does, but worse. I gave it a C-.
My reaction to Chapter 2: Exactly the same. This one skips the preamble and it's just 96 minutes of cat and mouse (and pig), with a couple brief flashback scenes to give us some uninspired and unnecessary background on one of the killers. I'm not left wondering about the other killers, I'm left wondering if I'll drop another $11 to see the third one in theaters. Ugh, probably. Another C- for some solid tension and a couple heart-pounding moments, but weak overall plot and a dumb protagonist. This reeeeally didn't need to be a trilogy.

Honesty this movie wasn’t that great, I didn’t watch The Strangers chapter 1 but watched a recap to do a catchup, personally I’d skip this movie if I had the choice, the horror aspect to the movie felt forced, the characters in the movie acted the same way as other horror movies but could’ve done more to act more scared per say, usually someone to watch new movies so thought I’d give it a shot but the movie felt dragged
