Definitely one of my favorites alongside the first installment in the Conjuring series. The shock moments were well-placed and even made me flinch slightly at times, even though I'm usually pretty good at predicting jump scares and rarely get scared. I also liked the Warren family story with Judy Warren as the central character. I laughed, I was creeped out, and I had tears in my eyes. The ghosts? Really coolly staged. And the scene on the stairs with the mirror was terrific. My heart stopped. It's a shame that this franchise has now come to an end. But a worthy ending, I think. Thanks also to the scriptwriters for not having to kill the dog.

They really took things to a whole new level with this one, and I loved every second of it. It’s been a while since a horror film actually got under my skin, but a few scenes here genuinely made my heart race. Creepy, tense, and surprisingly effective, it reminded me why I fell in love with this franchise in the first place.

100/100

I absolutely understand the problems people have with this, especially as the last conjuring installment.

For me however this movie got me. It managed to make me scared, make me laugh and genuinely cry at the end. For me this was the perfect send off to my favourite on screen couple

Okay this was definitely an unexpected surprise for sure like i went into the cinema with massive low expectations since how the third instalment turned out then coming out the cinema actually very pleased with what I've just watched (with a spare set of pants on of course). This was a very cool final chapter to close off the journey of the Warren's and a perfect end to this terrifying and pretty creepy franchise.

The scares here weren't as scary as the first two movies but some definitely got to me especially because I saw this in IMAX and the volume from the speakers was literally blasting, yeah a pretty big mistake but it was good for a horror film as I think it made the experience a bit more fun and enjoyable (and scary of course).

The Warrens were great as usual and I kinda like the story here a lot more than the last couple of films as this one actually had like a lot more too it and you know for a creepy horror film it kinda had a nice touch added to it.

You know for a franchise that’s had its fair share of ups and down i feel like this film is one of the better ones for sure and I don’t understand why the heck it’s getting a lot of bad reviews for and as a person who is not a massive fan of some of the Annabelle’s, Nun’s and especially Conjuring 3, this was one of the good ones.

I’m giving this movie a totally unexpected 9 out of 10 as it was actually really good and is gonna be high on my Conjuring list for sure as it was a perfect send off to this franchise.

9/10

Got to say so so much better than I expected going into the 4th and final chapter I honestly wasn’t that hyped for it mostly because how poor the 3rd film was and the average reviews it’s got but I’m surprised that I really enjoyed it.

It’s actually quite Scary probably scared me the most since I watched Smile in the cinema might because I watched it in IMAX maybe lol but not afraid to say it did get me more than once not at the level has the first two Conjuring’s but pretty damm creepy the tall man with the AX and the part where the father was getting processed got me the most.

The Story had me hooked all the through didn’t get bored whatsoever the Warrens were once again fantastic there daughter Judy was a massive part of the story this time she was really great aswell getting her mothers gifts definitely made her more interesting.

It was sad seeing Father Gordon’s death in this considering he’s been in most the films in the franchise.

Find it funny that Ben Hardy started in Eastenders now he’s got a big role in the Conjuring he’s come a long way he’s quite good in this though.

I thought the ending was a great send off for the warrens and I liked that the Mirror is called the “Conjuring Mirror” do really like that the story connected from there first case which was actually very cool way to end it I don’t get the poor reviews at all much better than most of the Conjuring universe. 9/10

Intro is beautifully done and the daughter after her confirmation nearly broke me. Much more family trauma to this than the previous films. Hauntingly exemplary in the timing of the jump scares, and this is just the first 30 minutes in. Imagine a gift that keeps giving, but in the worst possible way. In the 40+ years of being engrossed with watching any and as many movies as possible, this one has the most heart tugging feeling I've ever felt in a horror film. Tremendous effort went into this project, and in saying it works... Terrifying and Haunting and loaded with fear beyond reason for all those involved.

Best in the Series to date...

Some genuinely creepy moments with lots of Easter eggs to previous films which I loved. Just needed some more Ed & Lorraine for me. Gonna miss my Scream King & Queen ❤

Enjoyable from start to finish which is something you don't often find in a fourth film of a franchise, the last 40 minutes being a particular stand out.

A good movie to end the series on and hopefully they won't insist on making more and ruin the legacy.

“The Conjuring: Last Rites” lands as the fourth and possibly final entry in the main franchise, carrying the weight of wrapping up one of the most consistent and popular horror series of recent years. Directed by Michael Chaves, the film doesn’t try to reinvent the wheel, but leans into what has always set the saga apart: charismatic central characters, a careful sense of atmosphere, and a balance between human drama and supernatural horror. If the expanded universe spawned some uneven spin-offs, the main line of the franchise has always kept its coherence, and this one is no different. The film feels like closure, and even with a few narrative rough edges, it delivers a fitting send-off to the Warrens’ journey on screen.

The story is set in 1986, when Ed (Patrick Wilson) and Lorraine (Vera Farmiga) had already stepped back from cases due to his failing health. That detail, far from being just a dramatic gimmick, adds a rare layer of vulnerability for the genre: Ed’s physical fragility contrasts with the emotional strength of his bond with Lorraine. Meanwhile, the couple’s daughter Judy (Mia Tomlinson) takes on a bigger role, dealing with abilities similar to her mother’s while facing her own conflict between growing up and inheriting a supernatural legacy. This family core is developed with patience and sensitivity, giving the movie a beating heart and setting it apart from more mechanical horror productions.

On the horror side, the plot focuses on the Smurl family, tormented after receiving an old mirror that unleashes a series of intense manifestations. Using an object as the supernatural trigger feels like a classic genre move, but the film’s real strength isn’t in the object itself; it’s in how Chaves builds the rising tension. The cinematography relies on stark contrasts and shadows to amplify the oppressive atmosphere of the house, while the sound design plays with subtle noises, whispers, and carefully timed silences to keep viewers on edge. Unlike many modern horrors, “Last Rites” avoids drowning in jump scares, opting instead for organically built scares that come more from mood and setting than cheap tricks.

That said, the narrative isn’t without flaws. The third act, when the movie has to explain things and resolve the supernatural threads, feels a bit rushed. Some subplots don’t get enough development, and the resolution doesn’t carry quite the same dramatic weight as the build-up. Still, the relationship between Ed and Lorraine remains the emotional anchor, with Wilson and Farmiga once again proving their chemistry can carry the entire franchise. Their devotion to each other, constantly tested, ends up being the film’s true driving force and the element that resonates most with the audience.

“The Conjuring: Last Rites” may not reach the same impact as the first two films directed by James Wan, but it works as an honest and effective closing chapter. The balance between classic horror and family melodrama is still its strongest asset, and the movie understands that, in the end, what makes the saga memorable isn’t just the ghosts but the humanity in its protagonists. If this really is the final chapter, it feels like the Warrens are bowing out in style, with a film that preserves the spirit that made the franchise one of the most beloved in modern horror.
