A strong follow-up to 'Dirty Harry'.

I feel as positively about this as I do about that 1971 original. I don't think they set the world alight per se, but they are unquestionably entertaining and have a strong vibe about them. Clint Eastwood is terrific, while the support cast - though not on the aforementioned's level - are solid. Good story, well paced... I like it.

"This is a 44. Magnum, the most powerful handgun in the world, and it could blow your head clean off. Do you feel lucky?"

This was only my first watch of Magnum Force and I enjoyed it a lot more then my original watch. With knowing who the killers are you see and connect more of the dots that Harry Callahan is making and why he's getting on their trail. Which makes for a much more improved watch.

I also totally forgot how brutal some of the executions were. That lady falling down that building was brutal. Even the shootings at the pool and it all has that lovely 70s blood which is always a good thing!

Clint Eastwood is still great as Harry Callahan here and I do believe if I remember correctly this is the last great one before it get's more of a action series but I might be wrong. I still love seeing Eastwood as Dirty Harry and I still enjoy the heck out of the final chase scene.

Magnum Force is a must rewatch if you thought it was only okay on your first watch. I say, give it another go around and you just can't stop there. Just rewatch the whole collection!

In the first sequel to “Dirty Harry," Clint Eastwood's Harry Callahan has to take on not a crazed serial killer but a group of policemen who are not so different from him in terms of their motivation. “Magnum Force” is effective in showing exactly where the boundaries are in the moral code of Eastwood's character. Harry may not be an overly law-abiding cop, but he is still “good” enough for us to sympathize with him. The second installment of the series raises the bar in terms of production value, and some of the action sequences, in particular, have aged exceptionally well. However, I didn't find “Magnum Force” quite as gripping as its predecessor. Nevertheless, it is a good movie.

I think I saw this before Dirty Harry and thought it was great. Consequently I now see that it's nowhere near as good as Dirty Harry. Also, seeing David Soul (I saw some Starsky & Hutch before it too) as bad'n was mortifying at the time.

On a side note; the commentary on the Blu-ray is the worst I've ever heard. There's no insight, very little background and what's worse is that it's by John Milius (one of the screenwriters and he comes across a bit of a prick).
