Good movie. Well directed and overall kept you focused. It felt like a short movie and didn’t drag on which was great!

The Girl Who Escaped: The Kara Robinson Story (2023) - ❤x8

WOW! This is a hard and infuriating movie to watch because it's a true story. It was well done and in a tasteful way. I'm not sure I would have been able to be either of the 2 main actors - it would have been more than awkward and hard to act like that.
Katie Douglas put in a phenomenal performance.

How I rate:
1-3 ❤ = seriously! don't waste your time
4-6 ❤ = you may or may not enjoy this
7-8 ❤ = I expect you will like this too
9-10 ❤ = movies and TV shows I really love!

This is a well written and directed movie. I liked how they focused on, and emphasised Kara Robinson’s actions and foresight during the ordeal that led to her escape and finding justice. Great acting by Katie Douglas as well.

It might be a true story, but even with added dramatisation, it felt a little flat to me. Katie’s a great actress and I feel this didn’t give her room to show that --see ‘Believe Me: The Abduction of Lisa McVey’ for comparison.

This was a bad movie. I don't know how Kara feels about it but the acting, production, pacing... Everything was all over the place. I believe Kara is extremely strong, she's a survivor but it came out wrong in the movie because of the acting. It's not worth the watch imo, just read about the case if you're curious about her story.

As this is based on a true story, The police in this movie made me mad by how little urgency they showed when her disappearance was first reported. Kara is a survivor. A hero. Very impressive young lady. I hope the real Kara has an amazing life. There is no way of knowing just how many future potential victims she saved. Including her own.
