Still as good a second time around! Still a packed theater almost 2 months after the release!

This time I was joined by The Count of Snapchat, the dude was on there the whole time and even changed his screensaver at one point, why??? There was also the Whisper Sqaud behind me, except they were whispering as loud as I yell.

BUT in both cases, they paid attention during the second half of the movie and THAT, my friends, is the power of THE COUNT OF MONTE-CRISTO!!!!

What a Masterpiece! Best adaptation so far! And the OST Wow! I still have the music playing in my ear. I know in my heart that the next time I’m watching a movie as perfect as this one is a long way from now for sure.

Last year I had my first encounter with Alexandre Dumas' novel The Count of Monte Cristo, and I was amazed. I knew the story, but not the way the novel turned out. It immediately became my new favorite novel. So when I saw the first promos for the 2024 French adaptation, I was excited, because I expected something worthy. How nice it was to see this wonderful film in the theater! I knew that The Count of Monte Cristo is a work that cannot be adapted to film, the story is extremely long and everything in it is important, so the modifications and cuts are obvious, but despite this, the scriptwriting work by Alexandre de La Patellière and Matthieu Delaporte seemed very good to me; I was able to remember things that do not happen as they portrayed in the film, but that did not keep me from enjoying this adaptation in the slightest. Jérôme Rebotier's music is absolutely perfect for this monumental work. And I've always liked Pierre Niney's acting, and here he stands out again as the protagonist Edmond Dantès; the rest of the cast is equally applaudable. Its three-hour duration passes so quickly because of the constant emotion that the story itself has. Being mid-October, this is the best film I've seen this year.

This movie is superb, the best version of the story brought to life, in my opinion.

Be ready though, this film is in French so it's a subtitle movie. But it's so worth it.

Everyone needs to watch this film.

I was expecting a slow, forgettable movie. It doesn't play in a lot of cinemas nearby and the only person who talked about it was my girlfriend's mom.

But this movie was the surprise of the year for me!!!

It's about 3 hours long but from the moment it started, it got me hooked and moved on at a surprisingly fast pace. The story is just phenomenal, I haven't read the book so I don't know whether it's faithful but that also meant I had no idea what would happen next which made it so exciting.

There were so many intense scenes and the suspense was killing me throughout the whole movie, I just want to rewatch it already!!! The soundtrack is soooooo good!!! We listened to it in the car and I couldn't stop talking about this movie.

I'd really recommend trying to watch it in cinemas, it's very cinematic and as someone who is easily distracted, I was happy I could focus for 3 hours because this movie deserves your full attention.

I was maybe hoping for a slightly more satisfying ending but overall just a perfect movie with lots of emotions.

I feel like this movie could fly under the radar and the generic poster doesn't help but I would really give this movie a shot, I think there's a big chance you'll end up liking it more than you'd expect!

What an absolutely stunning movie. I was absorbed from the first minute (and my attention span usually struggles with foreign sound track movies).
The cinematography is as fantastic as the acting.
A highly recommended movie.

Thrilling from A to Z. The Count of Monte Cristo (2024) doesn't reinvent the wheel, but seeing evil get their just deserts never gets old, especially when it's so beautifully orchestrated.

Thoroughly enjoyed, a movie I will be sure to revisit.

that drone shot of him swimming away from the prison, a pure depiction of the sheer mental fortitude of man, as well as infinite perseverance, motivated by anger & a desire for revenge, what one single man can accomplish, i feel like they've foreshadowed all of that with that simple shot, one of my favorite moments from the entire movie

what a beautifully crafted revenge story, i went into this blind & i'm at a lose of words (im lying, yapping session and two week long obsession of this movie is upon is)

when Haydée was reunited with Albert, after she confronts the Count, at that moment i was flooded with many thoughts about this movie

it just felt perfect to me, it has everything

great locations, shots, costume designs, set designs, even the music was good, the Acting, this revenge story and how it's so carefully planned and executed? perfection, aaaaaaaaah

also, Albert's way with words, that poetic charm he had in the letters he wrote, and quite honestly, in the way every single character spoke, loved it.

_"wait, and hope"_
