This movie was a way more enjoyable experience than Haikyuu: The Dumpster Battle. If does a fantastic job at keeping a pace that's fast enough to stay hyped for all of the matches while also staying slow enough to build up the the relationship between Nagi and Reo as two strangers who would later form a strong bond as an inseparable duo. I also really liked how you didn't need to read the manga or have watched the series in order to fully enjoy this film, allthough it was pretty goofy that the final 5 minutes or so was a slide show of straight spoilers for a large chunk of the story past the 3v3 rival battles. I haven't read the manga for a while so this movie did make me excited to catch back up with the series!

Not sure if people hated or loved it but I truly liked it.

Watching it from a new perspective makes me understand the first encounter of Nagi and Isagi both on and off the pitch.

I hated Nagi but loved him low key in the anime but the movie sorta humanizes him for me. 9/10

This is a really interesting take on an anime movie; instead of being a self-contained story that has no bearing on the plot of the ongoing show (eg. What most anime movies do nowadays), this is a story focused on a supporting character from the show, that runs concurrently with the show.

It's a fun twist to see the events of _Blue Lock_ from Nagi's perspective, and he's a strong enough character in the show that he can absolutely carry a movie (with the support of his friend, Reo). I was initially worried that he wouldn't have a character arc because the movie would have to end somewhere during the events of the show, but they did a surprisingly good job of developing his character, even amidst events we've already seen in the show (albeit, from a different perspective).

Fans might bump on the fact that it's retreading a lot of ground in the anime, but seeing it from Nagi and Reo's points of view breathe some new life into the familiar premise. However, after the climax of the movie, they somewhat speedrun the rest of the events leading up to where the first season finished, then ends in a somewhat unsatisfactory way (but perhaps it'll make more sense once the second season releases).

I've been seeing all sorts of disappointment from fans, but I enjoyed it! It's a slight departure from the typical anime movie formula, and Nagi and Reo are strong enough characters to hold their own as protagonists.

Nothing new. Besides explaining Nagi's motive for playing football, the movie is based on Nagi's POV.
