Apocalypse Z: The Beginning of the End is a cinematic work that masterfully combines action, horror, drama and suspense, based on the novel of the same name by Manel Loureiro. Available on Amazon Prime, this film stands out for its intense and emotional narrative, offering an experience that will keep you on the edge of your seat.

The story focuses on Manel, played with deep sensitivity by Francisco Ortiz, who not only faces a devastating pandemic, but also his own inner demons after a personal tragedy. The connection between Manel and his faithful cat, Lucullus, brings a human and touching touch to a plot full of chaos and despair.

Character development is one of the film's strong points. The relationship between Manel and the characters he meets on his journey, such as his sister Belén (Marta Poveda), adds layers of emotional complexity. In addition, the direction manages to convey an oppressive atmosphere, thanks to an excellent combination of lighting, sound design and desolate settings.

The film is not limited to the typical scares of the zombie genre. Instead, it delves into moral dilemmas, resilience, and human connections in the midst of the apocalypse. This makes it an enriching experience for lovers of well-crafted stories, beyond pure entertainment.

With a well-balanced pace and a script that knows how to dose action and introspection, Apocalypse Z: The Beginning of the End manages to hook the viewer from the first minute. Although at times it may be predictable, it compensates with well-executed twists and a climax that leaves a lasting impact.

In conclusion, this film is a must-see for fans of the genre and for those looking for something more than a typical zombie apocalypse. An exciting and emotionally resonant experience that undoubtedly deserves its 8/10.

I've watched almost every zombie movie, even the terrible low-budget ones (for at least a few minutes). I enjoyed this one and am looking forward to a sequel. It's certainly a zombie movie but with a refreshing take. Manel is a very different type of hero and affects everyone he encounters.

Basically a good basic zombie movie which doesn't invent the wheel and keeps itself grounted. A good watch and with an ending that insinuates a sequal. I welcome the next movie with open arms and popcorn. I only demand that Lúculo the cat will continue staring in the movie, because he was carrying the movie big time!

Felt like doing a main mission on a survival game. We dont get many zombie movies lately, and this one done its job quite well. Okay plot, okay characters, okay zombies. No trash things. Like I said, it gave us the thrill of doing a main mission and having the anxiety to complete it.

Character driven story like “28 Days Later“.

Good and solid movie based on a trilogy of books from a spanish author. This movie follows quite well the first book.

Good acting.

The whole situation is known, but the movie manages to create well written characters in a 2h movie. When the character gets stuck in a situation, he and the plot is saved by some deus ex machina moments. Unfortunately.

There is some action, it’s intense, but the plot is well known from similar movies. The camera work is good and the scenes are well executed.
The movie is more about the main protagonist, his troubled past and his way of surviving in a hostile surrounding.

The end is quite open and hopefully the sequels will be produced, too.

Classic zombie movie, the plot is a bit slow. There are logic errors from time to time, the acting is a bit mediocre, but there are not many good movies among zombie movies. I'm a legend, there's Zombieland, Zombie Express and World War Z, so the number of good movies doesn't exceed the fingers of one hand. They left the end open-ended, such films started to be made in the meantime, it was not pleasant, but frankly, it did not bore me. There are also emotional scenes from time to time, so it is manageable and 😁 watched

Another Spanish zombie film, to be fair it was not a bad movie. This movie is not a VERY low budget movie, but they did it well enough.

I really like Spanish zombie movies, because many years ago I saw a Spanish zombie movie for the first time, it was a very good survival movie.
I really, really hope we get Apocalypse Z part two!

The movie is quite interesting, though it's a theme that's been seen and recycled many times. I don't like that the European stereotype of Russians being portrayed as the bad guys was used. I appreciate that, unlike many films, this one didn’t start with the typical American zombie apocalypse, but the ending is very predictable, and overall, the film lacks originality.
