Sleepwalkers

Charles Brady and his mother, Mary, are the last of a dying breed whose needs are not of this world. They are Sleepwalkers - able to stay alive only by feeding on the life-force of the innocent, but destined to roam the earth, avoiding discovery while searching for their next victim. That search takes them to the sleepy little town of Travis, Indiana, where beautiful teenager Tanya Robertson is about to become an unwilling pawn in their nightmarish fight for survival.

Schlock, and I do mean schlock. So bad it's mildly entertaining to some. I'm still torn on it. The same budget as The Thing but look at it! The emotional stunt this movies tries to plays with the mother and her son is ridiculous considering what she does. It's like they wanted the viewer to question who is wrong or right but who cares?!

This is like a Goosebumps episode on crack, and I loved that.

Comfort film material. Totally absurd film about shapeshifting creatures who feed off humans go from town to town for fresh victims. It gets insanely fun as it moves along. One of those kinds of films aren't meant to be taken too seriously. It has simple story but filled with crazy wild performances, countless of hilarious moments, and gratuitous cameos from horror masters. There's also some gnarly gore and cool creature designs.

Soo bad, but still soo entertaining. There's some campy hilarious bits in it. Some great music in it, and fun cameos.

"Stephen King's Sleepwalkers" is undoubtedly one of those films that can be described as "so bad it's almost good." I watched the film with an audience, and there were definitely some loud laughs.

Whether the humor is intentional or not is something I can't really tell. However, Stephen King's script is definitely not good and fails completely on a horror level. Some lines of dialog are truly outrageous, and some baffling decisions by lead actor Brian Krause don't help either. Some of it might even lend itself to a comparison with the "Garbage Day" meme. On the other hand, I have nothing to criticize about co-star Mädchen Amick. She gives an enjoyable performance, as she always does.

The film's overall entertainment value stems primarily from the absurd story of two metamorphic vampires who drain the life force from virgins, live in an incestuous relationship, and are afraid of cats. I'm not sure how many times I asked myself what the hell King was thinking. The dated special effects don't exactly help to create a coherent atmosphere, either. But despite this (or perhaps because of it), I wasn't bored for one minute.

From the demented mind of Stephen King comes the rather abysmal horror film _Sleepwalkers_. The story follows a pair of shapeshifting creatures who move to a small town in order to consume a virginal sacrifice. Starring Mädchen Amick, Alice Krige, and Ron Perlman, the cast isn’t too bad. However, director Mick Garris does a shit job at making the creatures frightening and at creating tension. In fact, the film feels more like a horror-comedy with the jokiness of the attacks and the creatures being afraid of cats. And the incestuous relationship between the mother and son creatures is just gross. Cheesy B-movie shlock, _Sleepwalkers_ is one of the worst films in the King catalog.
