Just goes to prove once again, that you don’t need SFX, just proper and very realistic special effects to make a great horror film.
Several instances where this is used, create spine tingling horrific scenes, that no other horror has come close to in recent times.
I counted four scenes that showed real shock value and needed a rewind to watch again.
Definitely the best horror so far this year and will be very hard to beat.
If this is the brothers template for horror, I can’t wait to see more!

Wow, it's been a very very long time since I've seen such a good movie. The acting, the story, everything! Top tier, I can't wait for whatever movie they do next!

I knew when I saw their Mortal Kombat fatalities sketch YouTube video many years ago, they would go far! 🔥

I will start by saying it is not what I expected based on the trailers. The gritty video recordings are present but not a big feature of this movie like Sinister. And it is high definition, aka not like Skinamarink.

So what is it? VERY graphic and disturbing. The two main characters are half siblings; the brother is almost old enough to live on his own while the sister is about 13yrs old and almost completely visually impaired. Her visual impairment makes her reliant on others to describe the world around her. This makes her fearful moments very interesting, as she can walk past signs of danger that would alarm sighted people but finds terrifying situations of her own that sighted people probably wouldn't experience.

Her and her brother are quite lovable, and the acting is phenomenal by all. You really get attached to the characters and feel their dread alongside them. Nobody feels flat/cheesy. The storyline is unique as well; I definitely haven't seen anything like it. It slightly reminds me of A Series of Unfortunate Events.

I have Talk to Me on DVD (by the same directors), so I'm looking forward to giving that a watch once I've recovered from this one!

Watched Bring Her Back with Christian, Iva, Justin, and Evan, at Harkins Mills. So good! Like the “Talk To Me” version of Hereditary. Really good job of making you piece together the story instead of doing exposition dumps on you. They also do a good job of hitting deep to human connection and driving people’s motivations. The knife to mouth scene and chewing on wood were fucking brutal! I’ll basically watch anything the Racka Racka guys make now. I do feel like they could have trimmed 15 or so minutes though. Connor 10, normal 9. 😬

This is a very emotional movie and I really sympathized with the characters. Incredible acting, especially from Sally Hawkins. The music (and use of silence) made unsettling visuals even more impactful. Genuinely blown away by the film

This movie is absolutely out of this world disturbing. Imagine if Psycho and Clockwork Orange got blended into the same movie. Not for the faint of the heart. I was on edge from beginning to end.

Really great movie. Wish they went into detail a little bit more about the rituals and whatnot

Very brutal to watch, but a great film. Beautifully shot, and brilliantly acted. Sally Hawkins is outstanding in this role.
